Tokyo, Japan CNN —When art collective teamLab opened its flagship Tokyo venue, teamLab Borderless, in 2018, the group wanted it to fundamentally change the way we perceive and think about modern art. teamLab Borderless TokyoSo, it’s perhaps no surprise that a significant amount of hype surrounds the grand return of Borderless, which reopens this week in an upmarket new high-rise in Tokyo’s Azabudai district. teamLab Borderless TokyoKudo’s rhetorical style is circuitous, which is apt in a venue that eschews a linear approach to museum design. teamLab Borderless TokyoWandering around Borderless is more like “shinrin-yoku,” the Japanese art of forest bathing, whereby you let your body react to its environment so that it subconsciously directs your movements. teamLab Borderless TokyoThere may be no centerpiece at Borderless, but when another teamLab member, Sakurako Naka, opened a curtain to the new “Light Sculpture” series, she said the collective is “super excited” about this one.

The Dry Combat Submersible would shield SEALs from the sea, unlike other delivery vehicles. US Navy/Chief Photographer's Mate Andrew McKaskleThe battery-powered Dry Combat Submersible is about 40 feet long and weighs a little over 28 tons. But perhaps the biggest difference is that the Dry Combat Submersible keeps frogmen dry, unlike the SEALs' other submersibles, which are open to the sea. US Navy/Chief Journalist Dave FliesenUS special-operations leaders have big ambitions for the Dry Combat Submersible and their other mini-subs. The Mark 11 is meant to carry small teams of Navy SEALs into an enemy harbors and shores without detection.

A recent video shows Ukrainian troops using close-quarters-battle skills inside a Russian trench. While Ukrainian troops are making progress, they are not moving as quickly as Kyiv and its Western partners had hoped. The proximity of the fighting and Russia's complex defenses has put Ukrainian troops' close-quarters combat skills to a brutal test. Those problems helped spur the creation of US Special Operations Command several years later. According to Maj. Gen. Richard Scholtes, the first commander of Joint Special Operations Command, US military officers involved in the planning soon butted heads. A task force of Delta Force operators, Rangers, and helicopters from the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment also attacked Fort Rupert and Richmond Hill Prison. CNN —It was an improvised scene the audience didn’t see, but Jeremy Strong freaked out the “Succession” creator with his performance in the series finale. The creator, Jesse Armstrong, appeared on a recent episode of NPR’s “Fresh Air” and was asked about Strong climbing over the railing at the river as if he may jump in during the improvised final scene of the Emmy-winning HBO series. I was terrified that he might fall in and be injured,” Armstrong said. “I did try and go in the water,” Strong said. Your job is to give the writing heart and a nerve and … all that stuff.”Strong said he “didn’t feel like (Kendall) could come back from what happens to him.”

The 73rd Naval Center of Special Operations appears to be leading the effort for Ukraine. The US Navy has been training dolphins and sea lions to detect undersea threats since the 1960s. "Those mammals were very real and very scary," a former US Navy SEAL officer told Insider. The program tested out a number of animals but found dolphins and sea lions to be the best suited for the mission. The US military wasn't the only one using dolphins and sea lions to protect its warships and ports. BUD/S course instructors "have a sadistic tendency to scare the shit out of students before open-water swims," the former Navy SEAL officer said.
US Navy SEALs travel around the world to train with other countries' special-operations forces. In 2022, SEALs in Europe trained with Croatia's ZSS, a relatively new special-operations unit. Through these training deployments, US Navy SEALs help new special-operations units to become proficient in new missions and skill sets. When it comes to progression of training, SEALs use the same "crawl, walk, run" approach they employ in their own training. These relationships with foreign special-operations units give US special operators access to almost any region of the world.
Taiwan's special-ops units, like the 101st Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion, would be on the frontline. Taiwan's special-operations units, especially the 101st Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion — the country's version of the US Navy SEALs — would be on the frontlines of that fight. Although a maritime unit with an intense focus on littoral and maritime special operations, the 101st Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion is part of the Taiwanese army. Like many of the world's special-operations units, the 101st Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion was stood up with help from US commandos.
