The most compelling suspect was James William Lewis, who investigators determined had sent a threatening letter to Johnson & Johnson, demanding $1 million to stop the Tylenol murders. As horrific as those deaths remain, the Tylenol murders did lead to safety measures which have very likely saved many lives.

Two people have been charged in connection with the murder of an 18-year-old in Connecticut whose body was found wrapped in a comforter on a highway, as family say the suspects are the victim’s cousins. Edgar Josué Chiche Martínez’s body was found on Pope Park Highway in Hartford Saturday morning. He was just days away from his 19th birthday, family members told NBC Connecticut. The teen was charged with murder and tampering with evidence while Soto-Veliz was charged with hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence. Although police did not disclose a potential motive, Martínez Mayen said the family believes the slaying was over money.

CNN —A former OceanGate scientific director said the Titan submersible suffered a malfunction six days before imploding in June 2023, killing all five people on board. The dive was aborted because, upon resurfacing, a platform malfunction caused by an issue with the variable ballast tank, which controlled the submersible’s buoyancy, caused the platform to invert to 45 degrees with the back bow facing upward. CNN —American Lael Wilcox has broken the world record for the fastest woman to cycle around the world, traversing 21 countries and 18,125 miles in three and a half months. “I had so much fun — felt like I could’ve just kept riding forever,” said Wilcox on Instagram following the conclusion of her journey. The 38-year-old Alaskan is an experienced ultra-endurance cyclist, having become the first woman and first American to win the TransAm, a 4,200-mile race across the US, in 2016.
