The videos began circulating Wednesday, quickly going viral on social media and sparking an outcry from both the public and some politicians. Venice, Italy CNN —Venice officials have hailed a temporary entrance fee to the city a success, as they experiment with measures aimed at controlling the number of people who come to visit. Research published Thursday in the journal Frontiers in Earth Science offers proof that Pompeii was simultaneously wrecked by a massive earthquake.
