Environmental contaminants have been increasingly recognized as risk factors for cardiovascular disease, but the association of metals with coronary artery calcification has been “largely unknown,” the study authors said. They hypothesized that higher urinary levels of nonessential metals — cadmium, tungsten and uranium — and essential metals — cobalt, copper and zinc — that have previously been associated with cardiovascular disease may be linked with calcification. NASA is considering keeping the two astronauts who flew Boeing's capsule to the International Space Station there until February as a result of issues the spaceship encountered midflight. NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams before boarding Boeing's Starliner capsule at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Fla., on May 6. The thruster issues cropped up as Starliner was nearing the space station in June, forcing delays during the docking process. Mission managers also conducted two “hot fire tests” in space, firing the capsule’s thrusters in short bursts while it remained docked at the space station. SpaceX has been transporting astronauts to the International Space Station since 2020.

DUBAI — One of the world's busiest airports temporarily halted operations as the United Arab Emirates experienced its heaviest rainfall on record. The airport said road blockages and flooding have prevented many passengers from reaching the airport for departing flights. Fly Dubai, a budget carrier owned by the government of Dubai, suspended all flights from the UAE hub until 10 a.m. local time on April 17, citing extreme weather. The UAE saw over 100 mm of rain, a 75 year record since the UAE began recording rainfall. Mulkey had stents put in by catheter in late June and has fully resumed coaching activities, overseeing the first practice for the 2023-24 season, which was open to fans. “It’s not going to slow me down," Mulkey told The Advocate of Baton Rouge. "A lot of my issues were hereditary.”Last season's national title was Mulkey's fourth as a head coach — the first three coming at Baylor, where she coached from 2000 to 2021. Her record at LSU in two seasons combined is 50-8, with NCAA Tournament appearances both years.
