Target is lowering prices on more than 2,000 items across an array of categories in a bid to offer more discounts to cash-strapped customers as the holiday season approaches. Both Target and Walmart have also sought to lean in to more store-brand offerings as a means of offering discounts. The most recent official retail sales data showed ongoing strength in consumer spending, while the pace of 12-month inflation continues to approach the Federal Reserve's official 2% target. However, research from a new Federal Reserve paper suggests lower-income households continue to struggle financially, something reflected in a lower pace of retail sales growth for that cohort. Target recently announced it was hiring 100,000 seasonal workers for the holidays — in line with the previous three years.

New York CNN —Target is slashing prices on more than 2,000 items, marking the second time this year that the retailer cut customer costs as it attempts to attract inflation-weary shoppers ahead of the holiday shopping season. Some prices have dropped effective immediately on a number of items, including home goods, beauty products, food, beverages and toys. In a press release, Target said it “routinely adjusts its prices to remain competitive in markets across the country” and the discounting will continue through December. In May, Target announced it was going to slash prices on 5,000 items but ended up surpassing that number, cutting prices on 8,000 products. However, there’s some good news for stores: Spending at US retailers climbed 0.4% in September from the prior month, according to government data released last week.

The Siren Craft System is supposed to free up time that partners can devote to customer service and improving their coffee-making skills, Starbucks said in July. I had to use an immersion blender to make Guy Fieri's sauce. Then the recipe called for minced garlic and ginger, apple-cider vinegar, frozen raspberries, raspberry jam, and molasses. Once it was done cooking, I used an immersion blender to puree the sauce, and then a sieve to catch any raspberry seeds. This part wasn't fun because the sauce was relatively thick, so it took a while to drip through the sieve. And then my sieve broke, so couldn't get every seed out of the sauce, which ended up being fine.

I made classic vanilla ice cream using the bag trick, blender method, and Ninja Creami. The Ninja Creami required over 24 hours of time and the bag method took about 15 minutes. ☆ Vitamix recalls almost 570,000 blender parts

After dozens of reports of lacerations from exposed blades, Vitamix announced a recall of about 569,000 blending containers and blade bases for its high-powered blenders. All affected customers should immediately stop using the recalled parts, the company said, and contact Vitamix for a repair kit. Vitamix instructed customers who repaired their blenders in the 2018 recall to stop using those blender parts as well. The recall affects all Ascent and Venturist Series 8-ounce blending containers, 20-ounce blending containers, and blade bases. Ascent blenders can retail for up to $749.95 and the Venturist V1200 can retail for up to $549.95 on the Vitamix website.
