Americans will be splashing around this summer in the backyard pools they've already got, but not splashing out as much on new ones. Swimming pool installations were part of the home improvement frenzy that swept the country during the pandemic as Americans were stuck at home. Pool Corp., a national pool equipment distributor with a roughly $11 billion market valuation, said last week it expects new pool construction to fall by 15% to 20% this year. But businesses that rely on Americans' appetite for home upgrades are still adjusting to leaner times — including pool builders. In Arizona, Ast said, "the lines get blurred a little bit between luxury and need in the middle of the desert."

Texas-based satellite manufacturer AST SpaceMobile is a risky — but worthwhile — investment, according to UBS. Analyst Christopher Schoell increased his price target for the stock by $6 to $13, implying a whopping 50.8% potential upside as of Friday's close. The shares have climbed nearly 44% so far this year, and skyrocketed about 284% over the past month. "We still see ASTS as a high-risk, high-reward investment that is subject to various risks," Schoell said in a Monday note. Still, the stock has several risks that could create uncertainties for the company's path ahead, such as launch timing and the possibility of failures, regulatory issues, funding and competition.

Satellite-to-phones service provider AST SpaceMobile announced a partnership with Verizon on Wednesday, adding to the company's recent deal with AT&T to provide remote coverage across the United States. AST SpaceMobile is building satellites to provide broadband service to unmodified smartphones, in the nascent "direct-to-device" communications market. The company's chairman and CEO, Abel Avellan, touted AST's agreements with Verizon and AT&T as "essentially eliminating dead zones and empowering remote areas of the country with space-based connectivity." Verizon's deal effectively includes a $100 million raise for AST, as well, in the form of $65 million in commercial service prepayments and $35 million in debt via convertible notes. The companies said that $45 million of the prepayments "are subject to certain conditions" such as needed regulatory approvals and signing of a definitive commercial agreement.

Asta după ce săptămâna trecută, șeful AST, Radu Vasile și-a dat demisia la doar 4 luni după ce a câștigat concursul. Radu Vasile, cel care a câștigat concursul în iulie 2020, și-a dat demisia săptămâna trecută din funcție. Atunci, Sajin a fost unul din cei 11 pretendenți la funcție, însă nu a promovat concursul. Din 1997 și până în 2014 a fost director la SRL “Arbitru”, iar din 2010, concomitent, și director la Finpar Invest SRL, după ce, în perioad 2009-2010 a fost director adjunct al acestui SRL.
