Prosecutors say Allen actually confessed over 60 times to the murders while in prison, to his wife, his mother, family members, the prison warden, the psychologist who treated him in prison, other prison employees and other inmates. The jury on Thursday heard recordings of seven prison phone calls Allen made to his wife and mother, according to WTHR. Monica Wala, the prison psychologist who treated Allen at Westville Correctional Facility, testified for the prosecution that he confessed to the crimes multiple times, once in great detail, according to WTHR. He also spoke about wanting to go back and change his actions and apologize to the families, Wala testified. He had a serious mental health history and had experienced both major depressive disorder and anxiety disorder, Wala testified during cross-examination.

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man was convicted of murder Friday in the shooting deaths of five people, including family members and a pregnant woman who was nearly due to give birth, prosecutors said. A jury deliberated about three hours before finding Raymond Childs III guilty of six counts of murder in the killings, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office said. While Abby’s body was discovered fully clothed – in Libby’s clothes – Libby was discovered nude, Kohr testified, according to WRTV. At trial Thursday, defense lawyer Andrew Baldwin asked the clerk, Kathy Shank, if his client was trying to "assist" the investigation. And he said the information Allen provided to authorities days later was marked as cleared when it shouldn’t have been. Allen provided a similar account, according to former Delphi Police Chief Steve Mullin, who conducted the interview, though Allen said he’d arrived at the trail at noon and left at 1:30 p.m. When Mullin showed Allen a photo of the “bridge guy,” the former chief testified, Allen responded: “If the picture was taken with the girl’s camera, there was no way it could be him,” Mullin testified. In his testimony, Liggett said it was the discovery of that bullet along with witness accounts that prompted Allen’s arrest.

DNA testing has revealed that a skull found decades ago in the wall of an Illinois house belonged to an 18-year-old woman who died just after the American Civil War. How did the skull end up in a wall in Illinois when Granger's body was buried in Indiana? "Grave robbing was quite common in that era as it was quite profitable. While the practice was illegal, the law forbidding grave robbing was not always enforced, Russell said. Before she built what would become a billion-dollar company, Angie Hicks had to conquer one of her biggest fears: talking to strangers. Hicks — one of the two co-founders of Angi, formerly known as Angie's List — is a self-described introvert. But when the business launched in 1995, she wore many hats — often literally walking door-to-door to recruit Angi's first customers. In 1996, the company rebranded to Angie's List after customers began associating Hicks personally with the recommendations. The company, which went public in 2011, has consistently brought in over one billion dollars every year since 2018.

But the widowed 78-year-old now has to skimp on her meals because her Social Security benefits haven’t kept up with the rising costs for food, housing and health care in recent years. Social Security benefits have lost 20% of their buying power since 2010, according to a recent analysis by The Senior Citizens League, an advocacy group. Every January, Social Security recipients get an annual cost-of-living adjustment, known as a COLA, but the increases often don’t keep up with the actual rise in prices – hurting senior citizens, many of whom live on fixed incomes and depend heavily on their Social Security benefits. Social Security benefits have risen by 58% between 2010 and 2024, but the cost of goods and services purchased by typical retirees jumped 73% during that time, the league said. For Albrecht, it feels like her Social Security benefits have lost more than 20% of their buying power.

On June 23, when the Fever faced off against the Sky in Chicago, the average ticket price was around $250 — the most expensive average ticket price ever for a WNBA game — according to the ticket resale marketplace TickPick. It's not uncommon for star athletes like Clark to drive soaring ticket prices when they play away from home. If two arenas have the same level of ticket demand, the one with more seats could, in theory, have lower ticket prices. Tickets cost less in smaller marketsThings tend to cost more in cities like New York than they do in Indianapolis, including ticket prices. It's possible that, to some degree, Fever home ticket prices have been kept in check by the Indianapolis market.

CNN —The Supreme Court on Wednesday sided with the former mayor of an Indiana city accused of accepting a bribe in exchange for a towing contract, the latest decision in which the high court has weakened federal anti-corruption laws. James Snyder, the former mayor of Portage, Indiana, was convicted of accepting $13,000 from a trucking company weeks after it was awarded a contract. The law at issue makes it a federal crime for local officials to “corruptly” take anything valued at over $5,000. Part of the challenge of the case was setting a standard for how to define “corruptly.”In a series of recent decisions, the Supreme Court has adopted a narrow interpretations of federal anti-corruption laws. Last year, the court tossed out fraud convictions in two cases involving former aides of then-New York Gov.

He’s going to be a killer rebounder, monster screener and will consistently establish his position even against some of the stronger NBA players. I’m done doubting Edey, even as an NBA player. As an enormous ballhandler with serious touch and incredible vision as a passer, Topić is clearly an NBA player, even if it doesn’t all translate. Shannon is an elite athlete, but the NBA game requires more nuance, especially if he continues to be an inconsistent shooter. However, I also think he’s more than just a floor spacer on offense in spot-up situations and potentially as an off-ball scorer.

Jaylen Brown posted a game-high 29 points along with six rebounds, three steals and four 3-pointers to lead the Celtics. Game 1 of the NBA Finals will be played in Boston on June 6 against either the Dallas Mavericks or Minnesota Timberwolves. Celtics execute down the stretchThe longstanding question about the Celtics has been: How they will execute at the end of close games? The Pacers elevated their game in every way after losing Haliburton, forcing Boston to hone its end game execution and defensive effort. Down 3-0 in the series without Haliburton, the game could have easily turned into a blowout and the Celtics could have cruised to the NBA Finals.

Basketball players’ style — largely in the men’s league, but increasingly the women’s too — has become a bonafide pillar in fashion media and consumption. Basketball players’ style has more eyes on it than any other sport, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author Mitchell S. Jackson told CNN. “(The league) was the first to embrace it,” Jackson, author of the recently released photobook “Fly: The Big Book of Basketball Fashion,” explained. “Basketball players are so much a part of American culture. Bettman/Getty Images/Courtesy Workman“We talk a lot about current NBA tunnel style, but the league has been America’s most stylish for decades,” Schube continued.
