Protesters waved Nazi flags outside of a community theater production of “The Diary of Anne Frank,” leaving performers "understandably shaken" by the hateful display in Michigan, officials said Monday. Hawaii is the only US state without any fluoride in municipal taps; fluoridated water is only available there on military bases. As such, fluoridated water is now mandated on any military base with more than 3,300 people. Rumors have circulated that drinking fluoridated water can lead to bone cancer (osteosarcoma), but long-term studies from both the UK and US haven't found any credible evidence of higher rates in areas where people drink fluoridated water. Their review concluded that some studies of fluoride consumption have found links between higher fluoride water levels and lower IQs in kids.

In a Tuesday interview with CNBC's Jim Cramer, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla struck a positive tone about activist investor Starboard Value, saying he agreed with some of its criticisms, but maintained that the company is headed in a good direction. But if Starboard, and anybody else for that matter, have good ideas, I will certainly discuss them and entertain." The pharmaceutical giant is under pressure from Starboard, which reportedly has a $1 billion stake in the company. But he praised Starboard's CEO Jeff Smith, saying he seemed "very smart" and "very pragmatic" at a recent meeting. Bourla also rebuked claims that his company was involved in dissuading past executives — former CEO Ian Read and former CFO Frank D'Amelio — from joining Starboard's efforts.

BOSTON — The Karen Read murder case has inspired crowds of pink-clad supporters, divided a Massachusetts town and provided juicy content for true crime podcasters. Now, rubber ducks are in the mix. The 65-year-old Schiffer didn’t speak during his brief appearance in Stoughton District Court but greeted several dozen supporters outside. Several wore T-shirts emblazoned with rubber ducks, while some carried American flags or placards supporting Read. Schiffer has been among the dozens of Read supporters who accuse state and local law enforcement of a widespread coverup.
