In recent weeks Israel has said Hamas militants have hidden command centres and tunnels beneath it and other hospitals.
REDESIGN AND ENLARGEMENTDuring the 1980s, the hospital complex was revamped and redesigned by Israeli architects, according to Israeli news reports.
Zvi Elhyani, founder of the Israel Architecture Archive, wrote on Ynet on Nov. 9: "With the aid of American support, Israel embarked on a project to revamp and enlarge the hospital complex.
