CNN —The oldest known tablet inscribed with the Ten Commandments from the Old Testament is expected to fetch up to $2 million when it goes up for auction next month. The ancient stone will be on show in Sotheby's New York showroom from December 5, before going on sale later in the month. The inscription was placed face upward and the stone was exposed to heavy foot traffic. According to a press statement sent to CNN by Sotheby’s, which will auction the tablet in New York next month, the stone was sold to a scholar in 1943. Last year, a Hebrew Bible more than 1,000 years old was sold for $38.1 million at Sotheby’s in New York.

CNN —More than 60 people have been injured, several of them critically, in a drone attack in north-central Israel, according to first responders. Hezbollah said it had targeted the Golani Brigade, an infantry unit of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) that has been deployed in southern Lebanon. The drone attack on Sunday comes two days after another attack in which the IDF said two drones were launched from Lebanon. The Emek Medical Center in northern Israel said it was treating four injured people. A man fell to his death while he was canyoneering in Utah's Zion National Park on Saturday, the National Park Service said in a release. The man, 40, died after he accidentally fell near the exit of Heaps Canyon around 6 p.m., the park service said Sunday. The man was canyoneering with three other people when he fell 150 to 200 feet, the NPS said. The Zion National Park Technical Search and Rescue Team and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded and gave emergency medical care to the man, the NPS said. Both the park and the sheriff's office are investigating the death, the NPS said.

He’s going to be a killer rebounder, monster screener and will consistently establish his position even against some of the stronger NBA players. I’m done doubting Edey, even as an NBA player. As an enormous ballhandler with serious touch and incredible vision as a passer, Topić is clearly an NBA player, even if it doesn’t all translate. Shannon is an elite athlete, but the NBA game requires more nuance, especially if he continues to be an inconsistent shooter. This month, an account on X with the handle @moyurireads and 360 followers published a link to a color-coded spreadsheet classifying nearly 200 writers according to their views on the “genocide” in Gaza. Much of it revolves around the charge of genocide and seeks to punish Zionists and anyone else who refuses to explicitly denounce the Jewish state for allegedly committing said crime. Over the past several months, a litmus test has emerged across wide swaths of the literary world effectively excluding Jews from full participation unless they denounce Israel. This phenomenon has been unfolding in progressive spaces (academia, politics, cultural organizations) for quite some time. That it has now hit the rarefied, highbrow realm of publishing — where Jewish Americans have made enormous contributions and the vitality of which depends on intellectual pluralism and free expression — is particularly alarming.

Visitors to national parks will get free admission on April 20 as the federal government waives entrance fees to commemorate the start of National Park Week. National Park Week runs for nine days, from April 20 to April 28. The National Park Service oversees 429 park sites in the U.S. Of them, 63 are national parks. The remainder are national monuments, national battlefields and national historic sites, for example. However, 108 parks don't — including some of the most popular, like Grand Canyon, Zion, Rocky Mountain, Acadia, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Joshua Tree and Glacier national parks.
