CNN —Serbia scored a dramatic stoppage-time equalizer to draw 1-1 against Slovenia on Thursday, a result which keeps its Euro 2024 dreams very much alive. Luka Jović’s header in the 95th minute of the match sparked frenzied scenes inside Munich’s Allianz Arena, a goal which also denied Slovenia its first ever win at a European Championships. Žan Karničnik had seemingly won the game for Slovenia after his second-half strike, but Serbia kept playing until securing its dramatic equalizer in the very last passage of play. The result means Serbia sits bottom of Group C on one point, with Slovenia in second with two points.

CNN —Iran’s former president Mohammad Khatami has urged the current government to be more lenient with protesters, amid ongoing nationwide demonstrations representing the biggest challenge to the Islamic Republic in decades. Vaticanul s-a opus în mod oficial unui proiect de lege dedicat luptei împotriva homofobiei în Italia, o intervenţie diplomatică neobişnuită în problemele interne italiene, a informat marţi cotidianul Corriere della Sera, preluat de AFP.Proiectul de lege aflat în dezbatere în Senat îşi propune să pedepsească actele de discriminare şi incitare la violenţă împotriva homosexualilor, lesbienelor, persoanelor transgender şi persoanelor cu dizabilităţi, scrie digi24.ro Potrivit ziarului, o "notă verbală" diplomatică a fost înmânată pe 17 iunie de către arhiepiscopul Paul Gallagher - însărcinat cu relaţiile Vaticanului cu alte state - ambasadei italiene pe lângă Sfântul Scaun.Această notă, nesemnată, susţine că anumite părţi ale proiectului de lege italian încalcă tratatul bilateral în vigoare între Italia şi Sfântul Scaun, punând sub semnul întrebării libertatea garantată a Bisericii Catolice în materie de organizare şi exercitare a cultului, precum şi libertatea de expresie acordată credincioşilor şi asociaţiilor catolice.Prin urmare, proiectul de lege nu va scuti şcolile italiene catolice de obligaţia de a participa la activităţi pentru ziua naţională împotriva homofobiei.
