CNN —Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has said he’s taking steps to ban the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, in the country for 10 days, after a public dispute with its owner Elon Musk over the contested election that Maduro claimed to have won. Maduro’s announcement comes after he and Musk publicly exchanged criticism over a Venezuelan election that Maduro claimed to win, but which the United States and other Western countries say he lost. Musk has said on X that “Maduro is not a good guy” and accused him of “major election fraud.” Maduro in return has accused Musk of conspiring against his country. The US said last week “it is clear” that Maduro lost the popular vote in Venezuela’s election, as a key opposition leader said she was in hiding in fear for her life. Protests broke out across Venezuela after the country’s electoral body, which is stacked with regime allies, announced Maduro as the winner with 51% of the votes.

Cele trei misiuni aparţin programului Copernicus, în cadrul căruia şapte sateliţi Sentinel sunt deja pe orbită şi furnizează informaţii utilizate atât pentru monitorizarea schimbărilor climatice şi a poluării, precum şi pentru evaluarea pagubelor produse de catastrofe naturale. Alte două misiuni Sentinel, CO2M şi Cristal, sunt deja în desfăşurare, iar a şasea, ROSE-L, va demara în curând. CHIME (Sentinel 10) va furniza observaţii hiper-spectrale, utile pentru supravegherea solului şi a vegetaţiei. Scopul lor este de a contribui la definirea politicilor europene de gestionare a resurselor naturale, dar şi la dezvoltarea ofertelor de servicii asociate siguranţei alimentare, agriculturii şi materiilor prime.

Agenția Spațială Europeană (ESA) a încheiat vineri trei contracte de sateliți în vederea extinderii programului său Copernicus de observare a Pământului cu Airbus Defense and Space pentru misiunea LSTM și cu Thales Alenia Space (TAS) pentru misiunile CIMR și CHIME, contra unei sume totale de peste 1,3 miliarde de euro, informează AFP, preluat de Agerpres. Cele trei misiuni aparțin programului Copernicus, în cadrul căruia șapte sateliți Sentinel sunt deja pe orbită și furnizează informații utilizate atât pentru monitorizarea schimbărilor climatice și a poluării, precum și pentru evaluarea pagubelor produse de catastrofe naturale. Alte două misiuni Sentinel, CO2M și Cristal, sunt deja în desfășurare, iar a șasea, ROSE-L, va demara în curând. Contractul este de 389 de milioane de euro și este prima misiune Copernicus încredințată filialei spaniole Airbus. CHIME (Sentinel 10) va furniza observații hiper-spectrale, utile pentru supravegherea solului și a vegetației.
