Former President Donald Trump was fined $10,000 last week after being called to the witness stand by the judge in his civil fraud trial to answer for comments he made during a break in the proceedings.

At the urging of Trump’s lawyers, a federal appeals court agreed Friday to temporarily lift the gag order while the former president challenges restrictions on what he can say about prosecutors, potential witnesses and court staff involved in the criminal case.

Circuit set an expedited briefing schedule, with an oral argument scheduled for Nov. 20 before a three-judge panel.
