CAIRO (Reuters) - The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) organization and British maritime security firm Ambrey said on Wednesday they had received reports of a incidents near Yemen's Aden. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) organization said in an advisory note that a ship had been attacked 60 nautical miles southeast of Aden. "Vessel and crew are safe and proceeding to next port of call", UKMTO later added in an updated advisory. Ambrey said that a Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier was hit by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) 66 miles southeast of Aden as it was heading east along the Gulf of Aden. "The vessel's gangway incurred damage, and at the time of writing it was deemed not usable", Ambrey added in its advisory note.

It said it was prepared to release the two for humanitarian and medical reasons once appropriate conditions were met. Gaza-based Palestinian militants seized the hostages during an assault on southern Israeli communities that killed some 1,400 Israelis and foreigners, the Israeli military has said. The vast majority are believed to be in the hands of Hamas, but Islamic Jihad, a smaller militant group in Gaza that is allied to the territory's ruling movement, has said previously it held at least 30 captives. The video is the third film of hostages to be released by Gaza militants, who have so far freed four captives - the last couple a pair of 85-year-old women who returned to Israel on Oct. 23.

BEIRUT, March 7 (Reuters) - An Israeli air strike knocked Aleppo airport out of service on Tuesday and forced the Syrian authorities to reroute flights carrying aid for those affected by last month's earthquake, Syrian state media reported. The attack caused "material damage" to the airport, SANA cited the source as saying, without mentioning any casualties. Foreign donors including the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Algeria have flown aid into Aleppo airport since the Feb. 6 earthquake, Syrian state media has reported. The attack overnight was Israel's third air strike in Syria this year, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. In January, the Syrian army said an Israeli missile attack briefly put Damascus airport out of service.

DUBAI, Dec 8 (Reuters) - The United Arab Emirates president and Saudi crown prince led mediation efforts that secured the release of U.S. basketball star Brittney Griner in a prisoner swap with Russia, a joint UAE-Saudi statement said on Thursday. "The success of the mediation efforts was a reflection of the mutual and solid friendship between their two countries and the United States of America and the Russian Federation," the joint statement said. It "highlighted the important role played by the leaderships of the two brotherly countries in promoting dialogue between all parties". Saudi Arabia had scored an earlier diplomatic victory in September by securing freedom for foreign fighters captured in Ukraine, at a time of tension between Riyadh and Washington. Saudi Arabia and the UAE, both traditional U.S. allies, are members of the OPEC+ oil producers alliance that includes Russia and have resisted Western pressure to help isolate Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine.
