CNN —Algerian boxer Imane Khelif defeated Chinese opponent Yang Liu in the 66kg gold medal bout at the Paris Summer Olympics on Friday. With a huge lead on the scorecards, Khelif continued to apply the pressure to Yang in the third and final round. For eight years, this has been my dream and I’m now the Olympic champion and gold medallist,” she said after the fight. The crowd cheered raucously as it was announced that Khelif had won the gold medal on points by unanimous decision. Khelif had been the subject of global attention after defeating Italian boxer Angela Carini in just 46 seconds in a preliminary match.

Or if you’re Amy Yang, try 75 times to win your first major – ending an almost two-decades wait – after the South Korean golfer survived a late scare to win the Women’s PGA Championship in Washington on Sunday. In 74 prior major starts, she had finished inside the top-10 on 21 outings, and twice as a runner-up at the US Women’s Open in 2012 and 2015. Stanford is the sole player to have waited longer for their first major than Yang, and only just: the American triumphed on her 76th attempt. “At one point I thought, ‘Will I ever win a major championship before I retire?’” Yang said.

On Monday, the central government announced 20 measures to support tourism, as well as spur consumption of electric cars and so-called smart appliances. The support measures announced included an entire section on spurring rural consumption. Specifics included subsidizing trade-ins for purchase of smart household appliances, improving delivery services and promoting rural tourism. Median disposable income for rural households rose by 6.1% in the first half of the year from a year ago, official data showed. But at 8,920 yuan ($1,245) in disposable income, rural households only had about 40% of what urban households had to spend.

Since China doesn't have a central social credit system, many local government agencies have been experimenting with what the system could look like. But the plan is for the social credit system to eventually be mandatory and unified across the nation, with each person given their own unique code used to measure their social credit score in real-time, per Wired. In fact, a national social credit system is currently being proposed. Companies will also be at risk if China passes on its Establishment of the Social Credit System law. Citizens with good social credit can also get discounts on energy bills, rent things without deposits, and get better interest rates at banks.
