BEIJING — A hazardous goods container exploded Friday on a cargo ship in China's high-traffic Ningbo port, Taiwanese vessel owner Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. told CNBC in a statement. State-owned port operator Ningbo-Zhoushan said the ship was docked at the Beilun 2 container terminal, according to a post on Chinese social media. The port operator and Yang Ming both said the cause of the incident was not yet clear. Ningbo-Zhoushan is China's second-highest traffic port, located in eastern China's Zhejiang province.

CNN —Playing safe is not an option for wildlife photographer Greg du Toit. Unlike many in his field, du Toit says he doesn’t use bait, camera traps, digital manipulation, captive bred animals or drones. Du Toit says that his photographs may look beautiful, "but the reality of getting those photographs is very different." Du Toit famously once spent 16 months photographing lions at a waterhole in Kenya’s South Rift Valley. Du Toit: I want to photograph animals in their wild habitats, doing what they naturally do.

The number of vessels due to dock at the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach is increasing as labor slowdowns at West Coast port terminals have impacted supply chain operations, from trucks to rails and ocean carriers. Data from MarineTraffic shows that vessel problems are shifting from isolated to more pervasive. He said these vessels have yet to be loaded/offloaded and sent away, critical to make room for the next wave of vessels heading to Los Angeles.
