In a press release on Wednesday, Delivery Hero said the relevant parties failed to agree on the terms. MUNICH, July 18 (Reuters) - Former Wirecard (WDIG.H) board member Jan Marsalek, who has been on the run since the implosion of the German payments company in 2020, has contacted a Munich court through his lawyer, according to the court and the public prosecutor's office. The turn of events comes amid a trial of Wirecard's former chief executive and marks the first known official communication from Marsalek, Wirecard's former chief operating officer, whose exact whereabouts have been unknown for several years. BERLIN, Feb 9 (Reuters) - The chief executive of German health care group Fresenius (FREG.DE) is preparing a deconsolidation of Fresenius and its struggling subsidiary Fresenius Medical Care (FMC) (FMEG.DE), business magazine WirtschaftsWoche reported on Thursday, citing sources close to the supervisory board. Chief Executive Michael Sen's goal is for Fresenius to relinquish control over FMC and no longer have to fully consolidate the dialysis company, WirtschaftsWoche added. Shares in Fresenius rose 5% to a five-month high soon after the report was published while FMC shares slipped 2% initially. Sen is negotiating the plan with the major shareholder Else-Kroener-Fresenius-Stiftung, which controls Fresenius, WirtschaftsWoche reported. U.S.-focused kidney dialysis specialist FMC's chief executive stepped down in December, marking the second leadership change in as many months.
FRANKFURT, Feb 9 (Reuters) - German healthcare group Fresenius SE (FREG.DE) said on Thursday it was potentially ready to cede control over Fresenius Medical Care (FMC) (FMEG.DE), after a fall in earnings at the world's largest dialysis company. Shares in FMC were down 3.4% at 1538 GMT, while Fresenius stock surged 4.3% after it said it was considering de-consolidating the subsidiary, meaning its sales would no longer be fully integrated into its financial reports. FMC, which has been hit hard by U.S. staff shortages and cost inflation this year, slashed its annual outlook twice last year, also pulling down Fresenius' forecasts. The Else Kroener-Fresenius-Stiftung, a charitable trust that controls Fresenius SE, "has taken note with approval of" the plans to deconsolidate FMC and to change its legal form. FMC Chief Executive Carla Kriwet, who was hired by Sen's predecessor, stepped down in December after just two months in the job, citing "strategic differences".

FRANKFURT, Jan 22 (Reuters) - The Bayer (BAYGn.DE) investor Union Investment criticized Bayer's chair for a lack of engagement, such as exploring a spin-off of the company's consumer health division, according to an interview in WirtschaftsWoche. Bayer is facing demands from activist investor Bluebell Capital Partners to break up, with a sale of the company's consumer health unit and, at a later stage, for a separation of Bayer's pharmaceuticals and agriculture businesses. Bayer Chair Norbert Winkeljohann "does seek dialogue with investors, but he should have initiated more," Markus Manns, portfolio manager at Union Investment, told WirtschaftsWoche. "It would definitely have been a matter for the supervisory board to help initiate a spin-off of Consumer Health," Manns added. "But generally speaking we are always open to a constructive dialogue with our stakeholders," the spokesperson said.

Lufthansa says activated AirTags are now allowed in checked luggage just days after banning them. "The German Aviation Authorities (Luftfahrtbundesamt) confirmed today, that they share our risk assessment, that tracking devices with very low battery and transmission power in checked luggage do not pose a safety risk. On Saturday, the airline sent a tweet saying it was banning activated AirTags in checked luggage. This meant they would need to have their batteries removed before going into checked luggage, rendering the tags useless for tracking luggage. Some passengers started using AirTags during the summer of travel chaos where thousands of bags went missing or were lost entirely.
