Washington CNN —A social media account run by Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign has been repeatedly deceptive. But the account, which the Harris campaign calls its “official rapid response page,” has itself made inaccurate comments on multiple occasions. The Harris campaign declined to comment on this @KamalaHQ post. The Harris campaign defended this @KamalaHQ post by arguing that “Trump’s entire platform is about embracing ‘tough’ policy of the past” on various subjects. The very next day, the Harris campaign used the @KamalaHQ account to tout her own popularity among chief executives.

Vance is also expected to begin holding news conferences with reporters as early as this week, the source said. At a closed-door fundraiser in Oklahoma City last week, Trump’s finance team was hoping the former president’s new running mate would raise $1 million. The campaign was well aware of Vance’s past criticisms of Trump and the deeply anti-abortion views he vocally defended. Still, people close to both Trump and Vance argue that America has yet to learn how effective the Ohio senator can be when in the spotlight.

William Martin has emerged as the "big short" in the latest banking crisis brought on by the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank. The Rocky Hill, New Jersey-based short seller from Raging Capital Ventures singled out Silicon Valley Bank and announced a short position in a Twitter thread on January 18, the day before the bank's quarterly earnings. Martin warned of SVB's large held-to-maturity securities portfolio and accelerating deposit outflows, the exact culprit that brought down the venture capital-focused bank. "There are a lot of banks that have these type of loans and mortgages, but not in the significant position that Silicon Valley Bank had," Martin said. The investor said he covered some of his large short position last Thursday, but was still short SVB into the collapse.
