Outside of the ABC27 news station where Casey and McCormick debated, a slew of people aligned with Casey’s campaign held signs calling McCormick an out-of-state candidate. McCormick attempted to deflect the line of attack on the debate stage by arguing Casey has little show for his long career in public office. “When you don’t have a record to run on, which Senator Casey does not, you attack your opponent,” McCormick shot back. When Vice President Kamala Harris replaced Biden as the Democratic nominee, McCormick said Casey quickly changed his tune. “Senator Casey said, ‘Kamala Harris is great!’” McCormick said.

On Monday, April 8, millions of people will witness a rare total solar eclipse as it passes over Mexico, the United States and Canada. For starters, Pizza Hut will give customers a “Total Eclipse of the Hut” deal on eclipse day, offering any large-sized pizza for $12. This is the second time Krispy Kreme has created a new one pegged to a total solar eclipse. Back in 2017, during the last total solar eclipse in the US, the brand used chocolate to cover its original glazed doughnut. NASA recommends wearing a set of eclipse glasses that complies with the ISO 12312-2 international standard when viewing any solar eclipse.

Google's Gemini flop looks bad from the outside. Ask the folks who worked on Apple Maps. Apple Maps fiasco could point the way forwardBut let's be more positive this time around, with a different echo from the Big Tech Screwups file: Remember Apple Maps? And then, over time, Apple did get its act together, and people did start using Apple Maps, and now there are plenty of normal people who use Apple Maps as a default, and some of them even argue that it's better than Google Maps. Except: The time between Apple Maps' flop and that article I linked to above — headline: "People Have Begun to Love Apple's Most Hated Product" — was more than a decade.

U.S. District Judge Roy Altman in Miami said Burger King must defend against a claim that its depiction of Whoppers on in-store menu boards mislead reasonable customers, amounting to a breach of contract. He dismissed claims based on TV and online ads, finding none in which Burger King promised a burger "size," or patty weight, and failed to deliver it. Burger King and its lawyers did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Tuesday. The case is Coleman et al v Burger King Corp, U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, No.

It feels dangerous to write about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: In the lag time between when I put the finishing touches on this and when it becomes publicly available, I could be a conspiracy theory or two behind. He’s a crank who cranks out whoppers the way Taylor Swift disgorges perfect pop songs. Kennedy is where paranoia meets legacy admissions. It’s an exaggeration of inequities and injustices that really do exist, and it simplifies a maddeningly complex world. Ranting about George Soros or Anthony Fauci feels a whole lot better than raging at the vicissitudes of fate.

President Biden tried to reassure Americans early Monday morning that the banking system is safe and not to worry about the failures of Silicon Valley ( SVB ) and Signature banks. Markets didn’t believe him because bank stocks took another plunge, with some down 60% or more. Perhaps investors don’t believe the Administration’s Sunday interventions solve the problems. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. says it couldn’t find a private buyer for SVB, though a source tells us Treasury and the Federal Reserve favored one. FDIC Chairman Martin Gruenberg nixed it owing to hostility to bank mergers.

NEW YORK, Jan 10 (Reuters Breakingviews) - McDonald’s (MCD.N) ex-boss is in the frying pan. The $196 billion Big Mac purveyor sued and successfully clawed back Easterbrook’s bounty of over $100 million in compensation. The SEC’s order also dings McDonald’s for not better clarifying why he was dismissed without cause. The slap against McDonald’s suggests the company also was not being forthcoming. Still, Easterbrook’s $400,000 fine adds to his pain, and he is also barred from serving as a public officer or director for five years.
