A Florida man has been charged after he allegedly left two improvised explosive devices in bathrooms at the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa. Eckley allegedly left two remote-controlled improvised explosive devices inside two male restrooms at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino on Sept. 29, FDLE Commissioner Mark Glass said in a news conference. One of the devices was found by an employee, who reported it, and the casino was eventually evacuated out of caution. The investigation found that three days prior to the discovery of the devices, a man was seen behaving “very suspiciously” at the casino on Sept. 25. The incident is still under investigation and it's not clear what motivated Eckley to leave the explosives in the casino.

Trump was whisked away to safety, unharmed, while the gunman, who officials believe remained near the tree-line perimeter of the golf course for 12 hours, fled the scene by car. Phone records from T-Mobile that indicated Routh’s phone was “in the vicinity of the golf course” for roughly 12 hours before he was first spotted by US Secret Service, according to charging documents. It’s still not clear why Routh went to the golf course that day. But Secret Service knew immediately it was bullets, and they grabbed me, and I think probably the other one, Steve is one of the people. One patrol deputy saw the suspect vehicle at about mile marker 110 and alerted others, following it but not trying to immediately stop the vehicle, Snyder said.

At approximately 2:14 PM, MCSO initiated a motor vehicle stop. Shortly after the motor vehicle stop, ROUTH was asked if he knew why he was being stopped; he responded in the affirmative. Database checks indicate that a mobile phone assigned call number 1-***-***-8342 is serviced by T-Mobile US, Inc. ("T-Mobile") and that ROUTH is the subscriber. Agents requested T-Mobile, on an emergency basis, to provide law enforcement with information pertaining to ROUTH's mobile phone usage. Simpson, even in his final years, was somewhat of a spectacle. In his presence, heads turned and whispers swirled. When he settled in Las Vegas seven years ago, it seemed fitting that he would choose a city of escape and second acts. His lifestyle was comfortable — and far too pleasant to those who believed he deserved to spend his remaining days in prison. But there was one element that made him feel accepted in Las Vegas.

Tyler Starrett was on vacation with his family in Pigeon Forge, about 35 miles from Knoxville in eastern Tennessee, when they learned on Thursday that O.J. Simpson had died. They had heard that one of the key artifacts of the Simpson case happened to be on display nearby at the Alcatraz East Crime Museum: the 1993 white Ford Bronco that Simpson fled from the police in, just days after the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson, his former wife, and Ronald L. Goldman. “If the Bronco is here in Pigeon Forge, why don’t we go see it?” Starrett, 23, said. Pigeon Forge, best known for Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s theme park, is at first glance not an obvious home for such a relic.

Many Black Americans cheered, pumped their fists and exchanged high-fives, while many White Americans gasped in disbelief and anger. Some say America is a nation of immigrants who bolster the economy and reinvigorate the country. Kent Nishimura/Getty ImagesPoliticians have adopted the Simpson trial playbookThere was a surreal moment during the Simpson trial that could have been easily missed. Critics say Simpson spent years running away from his Blackness with as much vigor as he eluded NFL defenders. Simpson may have died this week, but he helped give birth to the America we now live in.

It would become an indelible memory for those who could not help but watch and watch and watch: a white Ford Bronco steadily traveling along the cleared freeways of Southern California, a trail of police cars not far behind. Simpson, and the two-hour chase on June 17, 1994, that interrupted regular programming transfixed a nation. I wasn’t getting off the TV. Who was getting off the TV on a chase like that?” said Richard Smith, 67, who gathered that day with his family to see it all unfold on television in their South Los Angeles apartment. The saga of Mr. Simpson, from the chase to the criminal trial to the aftermath, would be followed, debated and dissected closely by millions, etching itself into Los Angeles history and thrusting the city into what seemed the center of the universe.

Simpson, the former NFL star who was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife in a televised trial that gripped the nation, has died of cancer at age 76, according to a statement from his family. Reports circulated in February that Simpson had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and was in hospice care as he underwent chemotherapy. Simpson denied that he was in hospice in a video posted to X, but did not address whether he or not he'd been diagnosed with cancer. When Los Angeles Police officers went to Simpson's home to speak to him about the murders, Simpson did not answer the door but officers noticed blood on the door of his vehicle. Once a revered athlete, Simpson went from a Hall of Fame icon to a murder suspect.

The fugitive who escaped Chester County Prison and has eluded authorities for a week and a half was seen on Saturday night near a town about 25 miles from the area where hundreds of law enforcement officers had been searching for him for days, the Pennsylvania State Police said. The state police released photos early Sunday of Danelo Cavalcante, 34, that they said were taken near Phoenixville, Pa., apparently by a door camera. He was seen clean-shaven, wearing a black baseball cap, a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and green prison pants. He had also apparently obtained a vehicle, a 2020 White Ford van with a refrigeration unit on the top. Late morning Sunday, however, the Pennsylvania State Police said in a message on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that “investigative leads have emerged that indicate Cavalcante is no longer” in the Phoenixville area.

Cavalcante is now clean-shaven and wearing a yellow or green hooded sweatshirt, black baseball cap, green prison pants and white shoes, the statement said. Cavalcante was operating a 2020 White Ford Transit van bearing Pennsylvania registration ZST-8818, police said on X (formerly known as Twitter). Cavalcante, 34, escaped from the Chester County Prison while awaiting transfer to state prison on Aug. 31 after being sentenced to life for fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend in 2021. Prosecutors say he wanted to stop her from telling police that he’s wanted in a killing in his home country of Brazil. The escape of inmate Danelo Cavalcante from a prison in West Chester, Pennsylvania, U.S. is seen in a screen grab from a video released September 6, 2023. The images showed Danelo Cavalcante, 34, clean shaven and wearing a hooded sweatshirt, black baseball cap, green prison pants and white shoes, police said. Police said Cavalcante was seen near the town of Phoenixville, about 30 miles northwest of Philadelphia, on Saturday night. He escaped on Aug. 31 from Chester County Prison in the same region where he was awaiting transfer to a state prison to serve a life sentence for killing his ex-girlfriend. Last week school districts in the area canceled classes for a day after one such sighting, officials said.

CNN —Danelo Cavalcante, the convicted killer who escaped from a Pennsylvania prison, was seen overnight Saturday more than 20 miles from the search area where he was last reportedly sighted, according to state police. Cavalcante fled about two weeks after he was convicted of first-degree murder for the 2021 killing of his former girlfriend, Deborah Brandão, 33, in Chester County. Cavalcante was seen in or around Chester County’s Longwood Gardens – about 3 miles from the prison – several times last week. On Monday, a security camera recorded the fugitive at Longwood Gardens, authorities said. On Wednesday, a trail camera image showed Cavalcante in or around Longwood Gardens, but officials learned about this sighting Thursday evening, according to Bivens.
