Check out the companies making headlines in after-hours trading: Netflix — The streaming stock popped more than 4% after third-quarter earnings topped expectations. Netflix earned $5.40 per share on $9.83 billion in revenue, while analysts forecast $5.12 a share and $9.77 billion in revenue. Intuitive Surgical — Shares jumped about 5% after the maker of the da Vinci surgical robot posted better-than-expected third-quarter results. Intuitive Surgical earned $1.84 per share on $2.04 billion in revenue. The company earned $1.23 per share, and said it expects fiscal 2025 profits of between $5.20 and $5.45 per share.

Modelo and Corona brewer Constellation Brands is a tale of two businesses. Constellation Brands Why we own it : Constellation Brands' beer franchise, which includes popular Mexican brands Modelo, Corona and Pacifico, is the growth engine and by far the most attractive part of the business. And, the profitability of its beer business — operating margins were an impressive 42.6% in the quarter — puts Constellation in a position of strength. Still, raising an anchor is always welcome news, and talk of its booming beer business would, at last, no longer need the wine-and-spirits caveat. Looking ahead, its beer business should continue grabbing market share and its hard to imagine the wine-and-spirits unit getting much worse.

It doesn’t make economic – or logistical – sense to ship many of the goods that come into East Coast ports by alternative ports of entry – or by plane. That means America could see some shortages of chocolate, alcohol, popular fruit, including bananas and cherries, and even certain cars if the strike lasts a long time. A potential strike at this and other ports on the Gulf and East costs could start early Tuesday. And the federation and its members are concerned with how long it will take to recover from even a short strike. And many of those imports come in through East and Gulf coast ports.
