The family doctorIn the Oregon community where Nicole Snow grew up, Dr. David Farley was always there. Recounting the same anecdote he’d told Snow, he told Medley he’d once lost a young patient to cervical cancer and needed to do another exam to keep her safe. But again, women like Medley, Snow and Pratt describe feeling belittled or dismissed. After watching a documentary about the gymnasts abused by then-team doctor Larry Nassar, Medley, Pratt and Snow launched a civil suit against Farley. Their lawsuit has been amended multiple times to add women, girls, men and boys who say they too were abused by Farley.

To avoid breaking the bank, you may want to consider picking up a summer side hustle to bring in some extra cash. Here are four ways you can start earning this summer and maybe even have some fun while you're at it. Riegel started selling old clothing items in her childhood bedroom as a bored Duke freshman during the pandemic in 2020. "Technically, the thrifting takes the most time," Riegel told CNBC Make It. Ten years later, the pool "has paid for itself and more," Battan told Make it in 2022.

But learning the facts - that affirmative action is critical for fostering equal access and opportunity in our academic institutions -cemented my belief that affirmative action is necessary if we want to create an equitable nation. The court’s decision Thursday is consistent with its view that race-based preferences should and would have a limited shelf life. Jon Wang, who revealed himself as a plaintiff in this Supreme Court case, was rejected by Harvard but was accepted at and is now attending Georgia Tech. Affirmative action enabled my ability to experience different ways of thinking and to form the lasting friendships I have made. Affirmative action has been a tool used by many countries to ensure underrepresented communities are included in areas they normally are not.

Dec 14 (Reuters) - An equities trader at a large U.S. asset manager was criminally charged with using information about his employer's trades to make tens of millions of dollars in an insider trading scheme, federal prosecutors in New York said Wednesday. Equities trader Lawrence Billimek, 51, of Hailey, Idaho, was arrested in Texas and day trader Alan Williams, 77, of West Linn, Oregon, was arrested in his home state, prosecutors said. Prosecutors allege they made tens of millions of dollars on more than a thousand trades ahead of large stock transactions by Billimek's employer. Both were charged with conspiracy, securities fraud and wire fraud in an indictment unsealed in Manhattan. Jim Battan, 58, has made nearly $200,000 renting out his backyard pool. But he says his lucrative side hustle requires a lot of time, money and the right mindset to succeed. Here are the three reasons why Battan's six-figure side hustle isn't for casual pool owners. He spent $110,000 on its construction, which includes a pool house and attached spa pool that he keeps at 130 degrees year-round. The pool is also near the family's rescue farm, where Battan's wife cares for animals like pigs, raccoons and llamas.
"I built a man cave last year, and also credit that to my Swimply pool." Plus, Battan's pool is the gold standard: He is Swimply's top earner out of 25,000 pools in the U.S., Canada and Australia. The pool is also right next to the family's barn, where Battan's wife looks after rescued animals like horses, llamas, opossums and pigs. The pool is also near the family's rescue farm, where Battan's wife cares for animals like pigs, raccoons and llamas. Swimply takes a 15% cut from every booking, though Battan says the platform's ease of use is worth it.
