Caltech's president, Thomas F. Rosenbaum, said the project had shown them that solar power beamed from space "is still a future prospect" but that it "should be an achievable future." The science has already been demonstrated; it's just going to be an engineering and economic feat to prove it can be done from space, Bhatt said.
