Following Wedneday's trade, Jim Cramer's Charitable Trust will own 350 shares of STZ, increasing its weighting in the portfolio to 3% from 2.83%. The market has officially entered oversold territory, according to the S & P 500 Short Range Oscillator . While the market can feel treacherous at times, we've already seen a decent bounce off of session lows, a move we owe to the fact that the market is oversold. The potential for these positive intraday swings is why we generally approach oversold markets with an opportunistic lens, looking for stocks to buy small, instead of running away from the market. Asia stocks fall as weak China data weigh

China reported weaker than expected July activity data Tuesday, accompanied by news that Beijing would no longer publish youth unemployment data. Wong said he was most concerned about month-to-month decline of China's retail sales and weak infrastructure investments, which suggested lack of funding from local governments. China's industrial output and retail sales growth both slowed from a month earlier to a year-on-year pace of 3.7% and 2.5% respectively, missing expectations. If the decline begins to accelerate, it will feed back on weaker consumer confidence and weigh on already feeble retail sales growth. All three major U.S. equity indexes ended Tuesday lower, after a stronger-than-expected report on U.S. retail sales data.

London CNN —Regulators must learn “important lessons” from this year’s banking turmoil, the world’s top financial watchdog has said. Requiring banks to hold more cash to pay out depositors may be one of them. External shocks that have roiled global markets in recent years include the coronavirus pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In other words, banks could be told to hold more assets that can be easily converted into cash to pay back creditors in times of crisis. In the United States, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation said it would guarantee all deposits held within Silicon Valley Bank, including those above $250,000 per person.

U.S. crude futures mostly traded sideways, and were down 9 cents or 0.12% to $74.16 a barrel. "China has (been) rapidly eased COVID-19 restrictions, which may boost demand," markets analyst Leon Li at CMC Markets said in a note. The reopening could see a 1% boost to global oil demand, ANZ said in a client note. Oil prices have dropped by more than 1% for three straight sessions, giving up most of their gains for the year.
SINGAPORE — Banks have to prioritize consumer protection as they embark on digital asset experiments, said Umar Farooq, chief executive officer of JPMorgan's blockchain unit Onyx. Many blockchain projects and other crypto protocols have the potential to make financial services more efficient, accessible and affordable. For example, crypto exchange Binance was hit by a $570 million hack in October and Deribit lost $28 million in a hot wallet hack this month. "What a bank needs to do from a regulatory point of view and customer's point of view is that we need to protect our customers. We cannot lose their money," Farooq said during a panel at the Singapore Fintech Festival 2022 on Wedneday.
