A Michigan teenager charged in the stabbing death of a gay Detroit man will be tried as an adult, in part because of the “heinous nature of the crime,” authorities said Tuesday. Al-Alikhan targeted Brisendine because he was a gay, police alleged Tuesday in a statement on social media. Police in nearby Dearborn arrested Al-Alikhan and turned him over to Detroit authorities on Oct. 1, Detroit police said in a statement. CNN —Two people are dead and 19 others are injured after a shooting in Detroit, according to the Michigan State Police. The shooting unfolded early Sunday at a block party where someone opened fire shortly before 2:30 a.m. The 19 people who survived suffered “various injuries,” Michigan State Police said on X Sunday. It is unclear how many of the injured sustained gunshot wounds or how many were injured in other ways. State police said they are assisting the Detroit Police Department with the investigation.

The food started coming to the Chesterfield Township family’s home near Detroit around 9 pm Saturday night. Mason ordered basically every food that ever existed, including shrimp, salads, shawarma, chicken pita wraps, sandwiches, chili cheese fries and multiple orders of ice cream. His father tried calling the restaurants to stop the orders once he figured out what had happened, but they told him to contact Grubhub.

An audience member shouted a racial slur during a Detroit Symphony Orchestra concert on Friday night, according to the orchestra. "Racism and bigotry have no place in Orchestra Hall, and behavior like this is unacceptable," the statement read. The orchestra did not reveal which slur the audience member used. The incident took place during a performance of "A Charlie Brown Christmas: Cyrus Chestnut & Friends," according to NBC affiliate WDIV. The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is investigating the incident and plans to permanently ban the individual from attending their concerts.
