This is not the first time I’ve made this declaration, but it’s worth noting again as winter approaches.
That’s because Chenin is a white wine particularly well-suited to winter drinking.
(Yes, even turkey—especially if it’s a Chenin from Vouvray.)
A good Chenin can be made sparkling or still, dry or sweet or somewhere in the middle, though I tend to drink its dry versions the most.
A top Chenin costs a fraction of what a top Chardonnay goes for—also worth considering when stocking up for holiday entertaining.
