Prince Andrew wants to overturn his settlement with Virginia Giuffre, according to news reports. Giuffre claims Epstein sex-trafficked her to Andrew when she was 17 years old. Representatives for the prince and Giuffre did not immediately respond to Insider's requests for comment on Wednesday. Overall, Filitti described the idea of trying to overturn the settlement as a "foolhardy effort." "If Prince Andrew wants to rehabilitate his image, perhaps he should do so in a way that doesn't remind the public about the seamier aspects of his private life," Filitti said.
"In the court's view, there's no reason to redact Doe 183 from the documents." And when Insider asked that lawyer about his work for Doe 183, a representative for Wexner responded, declining to comment. But if Doe 183 wins their fight to keep the documents redacted, their name and the context surrounding it would remain behind those blacked-out lines. While he never identified himself verbally, the transcript's cover sheet identifies him as an attorney representing Doe 183. Of those 21 documents, there are seven docket entries where Doe 183 is the sole Doe mentioned.
Law firms Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP FollowDec 27 (Reuters) - Sam Bankman-Fried's criminal case over the collapse of his FTX cryptocurrency exchange has been reassigned to a judge recently known for handling defamation lawsuits against former U.S. President Donald Trump and a sexual abuse lawsuit against Britain's Prince Andrew. U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan replaces his colleague Ronnie Abrams, who recused herself on Friday after learning that the law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, where her husband is a partner, advised FTX in 2021. Trump has sought the dismissal of both lawsuits, including a battery claim. Kaplan also recently oversaw Virginia Giuffre's civil lawsuit accusing Prince Andrew of sexually abusing her when she was 17 at the London home of Ghislaine Maxwell, the now-convicted former associate of late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. On Nov. 21, the Boies and Moskowitz firms filed a second FTX class action, this time on behalf of non-U.S. FTX customers. The day after Bloom’s assignment to the case, the Moskowitz and Boies firms voluntarily dismissed the two previously-filed FTX class actions before Moore and Gayles. “As we got more cases, we filed more cases,” Moskowitz said.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre stated she now recognizes that she might have made a mistake in identifying Alan Dershowitz as one of her alleged abusers. Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre , her lawyer David Boies and the disgraced financier’s former attorney Alan Dershowitz said Tuesday that they have dropped their defamation lawsuits against one another, ending a yearslong feud involving two of the nation’s best-known attorneys. The litigation stemmed from Ms. Giuffre previously alleging that Epstein, who died by suicide in a New York federal jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges, sexually abused her as a minor and prostituted her to Mr. Dershowitz and other associates. In 2018, Mr. Dershowitz, a retired Harvard Law School professor, denied he sexually abused Ms. Giuffre and accused Mr. Boies of professional misconduct and extortion.
