Temperatures have hovered near 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit) in Delhi, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.
Some local weather stations reported highs of 49.9 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, above Delhi's previous record temperature of 49.2 degrees, which was logged in May 2022.
Other weather stations in Delhi measured temperatures on Wednesday ranging from 45.2 to 49.1 degrees Celsius.
The area of Narela cooled by as many as 1.5 degrees from Tuesday, while temperatures in many other sites rose further.
