WASHINGTON — A Donald Trump supporter who was among the first rioters to breach the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, has been convicted of plotting to kill FBI special agents who investigated him over his crimes at the Capitol. An NYPD officer and another woman were shot in Queens by an armed robbery suspect who was believed to be responsible for multiple robberies within the span of just about an hour, according to police. As police searched for the suspect, officers were flagged down by a witness who pointed out a man on Jamaica Avenue and 160th Street. The witness told police the man had just robbed a smoke shop on Guy Brewer Boulevard, and fired a shot while doing so, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joe Kenny. After being ordered to drop his weapon, the suspect fired once, hitting Officer Rich Wong in the thigh, Kenny said at a press conference from the hospital. Worthy, who had been arrested for seven crimes since 2001, was also wanted for three other robberies at gunpoint, according to police.

WASHINGTON — An ex-Army soldier who was previously court-martialed for shooting a handcuffed Iraqi civilian was sentenced to over four years in federal prison on Monday for assaulting officers during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. CNN —Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good have announced their engagement at the same annual event where they met two years ago. Wearing a sparkly gold dress, Good flashed her engagement ring on the green carpet of the 2024 EBONY Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles on Sunday. “Life is crazy—I’m crying to you—she is the most perfect, beautiful, divine (and) powerful being that I’ve ever met,” Majors told EBONY magazine. The acting duo shared the news at the event, which celebrates Black talent and leaders from across the world, because that “is the event that we met at in the bathrooms,” Good told E!
