The "office siren" corporate aesthetic is taking over TikTok, but it isn't necessarily new. It blends high-fashion corporate looks with '90s and 2000s vintage charm — fitting for Gen Z, which can't get enough of the Y2K era. The office siren look is bold red lips, pencil skirts, stilettos, turtlenecks, chunky jewelry, and tons of neutrals and blacks. She said the office siren aesthetic began taking off around the same time, coincidentally when she decided to post her outfits that aligned with the trend. "The office siren look is something that largely started in the office," Dwyer said.

MEREDITH, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire man was charged Thursday with assaulting two 7-year-old children at an elementary school, two weeks after similar charges were filed against another worker at the school. The charges come after another behavioral worker was charged with assaulting a 7-year-old student at the same school in an unrelated incident. Both men worked for Applied ABC, a contracted provider for the Manchester School District. “The alleged assaults are grossly inexcusable and fall far below the high standards set by the Manchester School District for the safety and wellbeing of its students,” Ruais said in a statement. In a January memo to the school district, the company said it had relationships with more than 50 school districts nationwide.

Vampires were very real to people in the past, but there are many ways science can explain their characteristics, whether they come from folklore or fiction. But many modern notions of vampires started with the 1700s media frenzy and continued with "Dracula" and other tales. "It's not like a vampire disease where people are wandering the earth for years and years getting to look more and more like vampires," he said. AdvertisementAdvertisementWhile sunlight sapped the count's powers, it was not until the 1922 film "Nosferatu" that the sun's rays killed vampires. As scientists began to learn and understand more about the body and death, stories about vampires started to evolve.

CNN —The second 2024 Republican presidential primary debate ended just as it began: with former President Donald Trump – who hasn’t yet appeared alongside his rivals onstage – as the party’s dominant front-runner. “Tonight’s GOP debate was as boring and inconsequential as the first debate, and nothing that was said will change the dynamics of the primary contest,” Trump campaign senior adviser Chris LaCivita said in a statement. DeSantis, Pence duck health care questions while Haley pouncesDespite the efforts of moderators to pin them down, DeSantis and Pence struggled to respond when challenged on their respective records on health care. A messy first hourThe first hour of the second GOP primary debate was beset by interruptions, crosstalk and protracted squabbles between the candidates and moderators over speaking time. Further complicating the matter, some of the highest polling candidates – DeSantis and Haley – were among those least willing to dive into the muck during the first hour.

[1/2] Former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump attends a 2024 presidential election campaign event at Sportsman Boats in Summerville, South Carolina, U.S. September 25, 2023. Seven Republican candidates will be on stage for the debate that begins at 9 p.m. Trump's Republican rivals need to change the trajectory with less than four months until voting begins in Iowa, which holds the first Republican nominating contest, the strategists say. DEBATE IS 'MAKE-OR-BREAK' FOR DESANTISMancuso said this week's debate was especially important for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Once the clear second-place candidate behind Trump, DeSantis has floundered, and some other candidates have closed the gap with him in recent polls.

President Trump has a commanding and seemingly very enduring lead. Trump, who leads his nearest rival for the Republican presidential nomination by some 40 percentage points in opinion polls, is skipping the second debate, just as he did the first one in Wisconsin last month. Perino, a co-moderator of the Sept. 27 debate, said none of Trump's rivals managed to alter the dynamic of the nominating race in that first debate. With voting in the nominating contest starting in Iowa in January, Trump's Republican rivals are running out of time to halt his march to becoming the Republican standard-bearer, despite his myriad legal troubles. CompaniesCompanies Law Firms Grail Inc FollowIllumina Inc Follow(Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court on Tuesday said it will accelerate reviewing Illumina Inc's challenge to a federal agency order requiring the biotechnology company to divest cancer diagnostic test maker Grail LLC. The agency said Illumina had not shown why the appeals court needed to speed up its consideration of the antitrust dispute. San Diego-based Illumina, which specializes in gene sequencing, is appealing an April 3 FTC order that said the company's $7.1 billion acquisition of Grail will curb competition in the cancer-testing market. The FTC in 2021 sued Illumina over its bid for Grail, a former subsidiary of the company. The case is Illumina Inc and Grail Inc v. Federal Trade Commission, 5th U.S.

Meanwhile, Trump has kept saying it will take him just one day to solve the war in Ukraine. Representatives for Pompeo and Trump did not immediately respond to Insider's requests for comment outside regular business hours.

"Bernie Marcus retired from The Home Depot more than 20 years ago and does not speak on behalf of the company," Home Depot told Insider in a statement.
A Florida sheriff stunned many of his constituents this week by appearing to endorse spanking students, his comments coming during a press conference in which county officials announced plans to tighten discipline in Brevard County schools. There was agreement among the Brevard County school officials interviewed that disruptive students are a problem in the system.
Fox Business host Stuart Varney said there wasn't a "great reception" to Trump's campaign launch. He asked Lara Trump if it was possible that her father-in-law had lost his "old magic."
