CNN —The remains of a York, Pennsylvania, teenager who vanished in 1973 have been identified through genealogy research and DNA analysis more than 50 years after she went missing, authorities said. Two game wardens discovered the decomposed remains under a plastic tarp and brush in a wooded area in Union Township on October 10, 1973, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Whether she actually made it to school – and how far she got to and from school – remains under investigation. Pennsylvania State Police are continuing the investigation into Ruth’s death to determine her last known activities, authorities said. LONDON — Apple and Google could face a competition investigation into their dominance of mobile web browsers and apps in the U.K. The U.K.'s Competition and Markets Authority issued a report Friday with a provisional decision from an independent inquiry group tasked by the regulator with carrying out an in-depth review of the mobile browser markets. In the report, the group recommended that the CMA investigates Apple and Google's activities in mobile ecosystems under the new Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act (DMCC), a new U.K. law coming into force next year which seeks to prevent anti-competitive behavior in digital markets. The DMCC is akin to the Digital Markets Act in the European Union. The group also said it found a revenue-sharing agreement between Google and Apple to make Google the default search engine on iPhone "significantly reduces their financial incentives to compete in mobile browsers on iOS."

X's new terms of service, which took effect Nov. 15, are driving some users off Elon Musk's microblogging platform. The terms are prompting some longtime users of the service, both celebrities and everyday people, to post that they are taking their content to other platforms. Although Musk said in May that X has 600 million monthly users, market intelligence firm Sensor Tower estimates X had 318 million monthly users as of October. That same month, Meta said Threads had nearly 275 million monthly users. CNN —After recent burglaries at homes of professional athletes – including Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce – the NFL has issued a security bulletin to teams and the players union warning that “organized and skilled groups” are increasingly targeting players’ residences for such crimes. The memo, issued Wednesday and obtained by CNN, warns that players across multiple sports leagues are being targeted. Perpetrators “appear to exploit team schedules to target athletes’ homes on game days,” and appear to be using public records, social media, media reports and surveillance to gather information on their targets, it says.
