Trump won the presidency in 2016 by stunning Democrat Hillary Clinton to win all three states by a combined margin of about 80,000 votes. But, as in other states, Democrats have been concerned about the risk of depressed turnout and some gains for Trump among Black voters in Philadelphia. Eight years later, the two states split again, when Roosevelt comfortably won Pennsylvania and Michigan narrowly went to Republican Wendell Willkie. This trio of states has arguably become the most consistent tipping point in American politics. In the nine elections since 1920 when they split their vote, the candidate who carried two of these three states won seven times.

NASA and Indian spacecraft have spotted what they believe to be water on the moon’s surface, and Chinese scientists last year found water trapped in glass beads strewn across the moon. But people didn’t always know there was water on the moon, though scientists theorized about its existence for hundreds of years. “I think it has lots of potential, this new finding that we can extract molecular water directly from lunar soils,” Qian said. After the latest study, many Weibo users raised the possibility of growing plants or crops on the moon using the molecular water found in soil. “We can’t work behind closed doors – it would be best to attract all of their scientists to China,” one wrote.

CNN —A man has been arrested after he climbed onto the roof of the BVB Stadion in Dortmund during Germany’s last-16 match against Denmark at Euro 2024, police said. Social media clips show a man climbing in the rafters of the stadium dressed in black with his face covered. He was arrested at 11:44 p.m. local time, police said, after complying with police requests and was found with camera equipment in his bag. UEFA – European football’s governing body – said stadium safety and security was the “ultimate priority” for them, the German football association and tournament organizers. “UEFA would like to commend the police, stadium and local authorities for their co-operation in the incident last night in Dortmund involving an individual arrested by the police on the stadium roof,” UEFA told CNN in a statement.

As an enormous ballhandler with serious touch and incredible vision as a passer, Topić is clearly an NBA player, even if it doesn’t all translate. CNN —The Sagrada Familia in Barcelona will finally be finished in 2026, more than 140 years after construction started, officials have confirmed. “The Chapel of the Assumption is expected to be finished in 2025 and the tower of Jesus Christ, in 2026,” the Sagrada Familia said in a statement announcing the publication of its 2023 annual report. When complete, the Sagrada Familia will become the world’s tallest church, overtaking Ulm Minster in Germany. Scantinel Photonics has raised $10 million in Series A funding from PhotonDelta. The German startup uses photonics chips to make autonomous driving more precise and safe. The startup says the game-changer is its use of photonics chips. These photonics chips are used to make LiDAR solutions and devices — which are integrated into AVs, and key in helping vehicles to sense objects and estimate distances on the road. Scantinel says it is pioneering a "new wave of LiDAR technology" that's more immune to interference and precise in its imaging, said managing director Dr. Michael Richter.

Ulm-based NVision uses quantum tech to enable MRI scanners to analyse tumors at tissue level. The startup has partnered with Siemens to use its medical-imaging technology for cancer treatments. It secured a $17 million grant from the German government using this 18-slide pitch deck. Currently, MRI scanners can only conduct imaging at an anatomical level. "We know that with cancer, tumors have different metabolisms, and this is how they keep themselves alive," said CEO Sella Brosh.

Echipa Hai Moldova vrea să planteze 3 700 de copaci în patru sate din centrul țării. Cum poți să-i ajuțiÎn cadrul proiectului lansat în luna septembrie, „Comunități sustenabile – dezvoltare durabilă”, echipa Hai Moldova organizează plantări în localitățile Jevreni, Onițcani, Coșernița și Boșcana. Plantările sunt organizate cu suportul tehnic și logistic oferit de proiectul Million Trees Moldova, care are misiunea de a planta un milion de copaci în Republica Moldova. Despre proiectEchipa Hai Moldova a semnat acorduri de colaborare cu cinci localități din centrul țării, în cadrul proiectului lansat în luna septembrie „Comunități sustenabile – dezvoltare durabilă”. Proiectul este finanțat de Uniunea Europeană și Fundația Konrad Adenauer prin intermediul Programului de granturi „Dezvoltarea societății civile la nivel local în Republica Moldova”.
