Breaking Dawn was one of two places that opened in the San Francisco Bay Area last spring emphasizing brunch. Asian American restaurants in other cities have also found that sweet and savory spot between breakfast and lunch. Jessica Nguyen, 28, who was finishing brunch at Breaking Dawn, says she’ll almost always choose Asian brunch over regular eggs or waffles. Within the last few decades, Asian and Asian American cuisine has become more popular through media and savvy foodies. She doesn’t see other restaurants with Asian brunch as rivals.

Read previewGuaranteed basic income is all the rage right now. Countries including India, Argentina, and Austria have tested out small-scale guaranteed job programs. Cleveland's jobs guaranteeFor Cotten, ensuring jobs for any American who needs one is a no-brainer. While many cities are testing out basic income programs, they haven't been universal and instead targeted specific groups in need like artists, new parents, low-income families, or people experiencing homelessness. Republican lawmakers have introduced bills to ban basic income programs in their states, with some arguing that handing out checks with no strings attached would disincentivize work and raise taxes.

My parents introduced me to traveling with road trips, and I've done the same with my kids. AdvertisementAs a child, I eagerly awaited the annual road trips across the US with my parents and two siblings. On our trips, we've learned everything from the art of lei-making in Maui to the Black history of Cartagena. It was also a much-needed break from the stress of the past two years due to COVID and a divorce. However, this year's resolutions aren't just for me but also for my son, husband, and two stepsons — even if I haven't told them yet. These are the resolutions I'll be striving to meet — along with my husband and kids — over the upcoming 365 days. Why are other automakers chasing Tesla's 'Gigacasting'?

Here's a look at Gigacasting and how the innovation is forcing automakers to scramble to match Tesla:WHAT IS GIGACASTING? The Giga Press is an aluminium die-casting machine adopted by Tesla at its factories in the U.S., China and Germany. The house-sized machines are able to produce aluminium parts far bigger than anything used before in auto manufacturing. Toyota said it expected that using aluminium die-casting would eliminate dozens of sheet metal parts from assembly and reduce waste. The global aluminium die-casting market was worth almost $73 billion last year and is projected to top $126 billion by 2032, showed an AlixPartners analysis.

The labour dispute and one over women forced into Japanese military brothels have bedevilled ties between the two pivotal U.S. allies for years. South Korea's foreign ministry, asked about the reported agreement, said negotiations were ongoing. The row spilled over into a trade dispute. 'VOLUNTARY' FUND, SUMMITSeoul unveiled a plan in January to compensate former forced labourers through a South Korean public foundation. The fund would be jointly formed by the Federation of Korean Industries, South Korea's big business lobby, and its Japanese counterpart, Keidanren, the report said.
The remains of as many as 10,000 Koreans who died in forced labour, digging mines or building dams, are still in Japan, according to South Korean government estimates. Japan says it has identified 2,799 remains of Korean wartime labourers. Japan's foreign ministry said it had been in communication with South Korea about wartime labour issues but could not disclose details. "There's momentum now, and the Japanese and Korean governments are trying to reconcile their differences." GIGAPRESS 9,000Metal and plastic die casting has been largely used in manufacturing, but its application to large aluminium underbodies in carmaking is relatively new. The global aluminium die casting market was worth almost $73 billion last year and is projected to top $126 billion by 2032, according to an AlixPartners analysis based on Apollo Reports data. Ralf Bechmann of manufacturing consultant EFESO said the benefits of die casting would push it "to be applied to an increasing number of new models of BEV vehicles, also by other manufacturers". Yet not all automakers are convinced, and EFESO's Bechmann cautioned that large module die casting required product design to be "super solid". After initially considering die casting for its upcoming Trinity model, Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) has backtracked, while BMW (BMWG.DE) has never expressed an interest.
After loading up on several boxes of Trader Joe’s ube-flavored mochi ice cream, Natasha Fischer brought them home, recorded a video for her Instagram account and put them straight into her freezer. Online, Ms. Fischer’s ice cream stockpiling drew backlash on her Trader Joe’s List account, where she has nearly two million followers, with people grumbling that hoarders are the reason they can’t find the products they want. Ms. Fischer, who lives in Los Angeles and runs a cookware business, wasn’t deterred, saying she was certain the ice cream with the trendy purple yam flavor would vanish by the end of the summer.
