CNN —The family home where rock band AC/DC was founded has been mistakenly demolished by a property developer in Australia. Located in the Sydney suburb of Burwood, 4 Burleigh Street had long been a place visited by the band’s fans from around the world. The family migrated to Australia from Scotland, living first in a migrant hostel before moving to Burleigh Street in 1965. “There is however, one domicile begging for immediate acquisition and deification; a small, simple dwelling at 4 Burleigh Street,” wrote rock historian Glenn A. Baker. Burwood Council conducted a review in 2015 to determine whether it should be listed as a heritage site.

The details of how those increases will be implemented are now being determined, according to the Social Security Administration. The WEP, which has now been eliminated, reduced Social Security benefits for workers who also had pension or disability benefits from jobs where they did not pay Social Security payroll taxes. However, per current rules, up to 85% of Social Security benefit income may be taxed. In the event the lump-sum payment of retroactive Social Security benefits is not distributed, they may take an IRA withdrawal later in the year.

A key question emerging from the 2024 election is whether the Democratic Party is significantly — or even permanently — wounded. Can it return to fighting trim in 2026 and 2028? A post-election YouGov poll commissioned by the Progressive Policy Institute, a centrist Democratic think tank, sent a clear message to party loyalists. YouGov asked 5,098 working-class voters (defined as those without college degrees), including detailed analyses of voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, and also asked 881 people in the national sample, to evaluate the political parties on measures of trust and commitment. In response to the query which party do “you trust more to improve the economy, protect Americans from crime, handle the issue of immigration,” majorities of voters, according to the survey, chose the Republican Party, ranging from 55-34 on the economy to 57-29 on immigration.
