Of course, these basic rules of political decorum are ones Donald Trump has rarely followed. He’s been accumulating political capital, and his victory only gives him an opening to accumulate more ... if he chooses to. On some level, I accept the notion that one person’s revenge is another person’s “reform,” so I’m sure Trump could argue he’s appointing reformists. Repealing all the IRA's green energy tax credits, including the EV credit, would offset that cost by about $921 billion, it said. She was getting ready to buy one thanks to the $7,500 EV credit, which made the vehicles more affordable, she said. To wait and buy in 2025 is "too big of a gamble" given Trump's antipathy toward the EV credit, she said. There's no question there's real risk in the EV credit going away.

New York prosecutors told the judge who presided over Donald Trump's hush money trial on Tuesday that his sentencing should be postponed while the president-elect's lawyers file further legal arguments asking the case be dismissed. The proposal Tuesday from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office would need to be signed off on by Judge Juan Merchan to become official. A ruling against Trump on the issue would have paved the way for the judge to proceed with his sentencing, which was tentatively scheduled for Nov. 26. That case has been paused while Trump and some of his co-defendants seek to have an appeals court remove Willis from the case for an alleged conflict of interest. Trump's lawyers have contended that even if she’s allowed to remain on the case, any Trump trial would have to wait until he’s out of office in 2029 because of constitutional issues.

And Gaetz himself has been making calls to GOP senators and visiting his own loyalists in the House GOP. The pressure is all building ahead of a planned Wednesday meeting of the House ethics panel, which is expected to discuss the fate of the report. Reporters had opportunities to ask Biden questions at the G20 summit in Rome in 2021, in Bali in 2022, and in Vietnam in 2023, following the summit’s conclusion in India the prior day.

Bannon is facing numerous charges from the Manhattan district attorney's office for allegedly defrauding donors who believed they were giving money to build a wall at the southern U.S. border. "We’re not changing it again," Newbauer told both sides including Bannon, who attended virtually. Bannon was indicted in the case in Sept. 2022 and hit with charges including money laundering, scheming to defraud, and conspiracy. Three other members of the group, including Kolfage, have already been convicted of charges related to the scheme. The number was higher among young adults, with 37% of people ages 18 to 29 saying they turn to influencers for news. Pew surveyed 10,000 adults and analyzed 500 news influencers, which it defined as individuals who regularly post about current events and have over 100,000 followers on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X or YouTube. “And these influencers have really reached new levels of attention and prominence this year amid the presidential election.”The rise of social media influencers, and in particular news-focused creators, has been slowly embraced by politicians in recent years.
