CNN —President Joe Biden envisioned a “day after” for Gaza without Hamas in power following Israel’s killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. This is only half the story, since at times, US officials have suggested Netanyahu had interests in prolonging the war as well. The White House believes that ending the war in Gaza is a precondition for lessening the chances of a disastrous regional war that it dreads. Is really his object to release … Israeli hostages still held in Gaza? If he keeps his word, some analysts will interpret his restraint, such as it is, as an attempt to avoid alienating the possible next president, Harris.

BERLIN — President Joe Biden is leaving Washington for Germany on Thursday morning in what will be one of the last opportunities to outline his vision for foreign policy before the election next month. After landing in Berlin, Biden will be greeted with full military honors Friday before receiving the country's highest Order of Merit from President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, his office said. After years of refusing U.S. prodding to trade the Russian, Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris separately convinced Scholz earlier this year. On Wednesday, Biden announced a $425 million aid package for Ukraine that includes air-to-ground munitions and armored vehicles, and promised more defense systems and supplies in the months to come. The White House said Biden will now travel to Angola in early December.

In yet another incident, crowds of angry drivers gather outside an apartment complex, demanding justice for a fellow delivery driver said to be bullied by security guards there. They’re among the many episodes of explosive confrontations across China involving delivery workers widely circulated on Chinese social media, showing people stretched to the breaking point. As China’s economy grapples with a raft of setbacks, from a protracted property crisis to a lack of consumer spending, delivery workers are taking a beating. That eats into delivery workers’ income as their pay is usually tied to a commission based on the price of the order. In 2019, a delivery driver died after he was hit by a tree knocked over by strong winds in Beijing, according to state media Global Times.

On a recent trip to Paris, I took a 40-minute train ride to enjoy delicious wine in Champagne. It's my favorite French wine region, so I love spending a day in and around Reims. As oenophiles know, true Champagne can only be produced in the Champagne region of France. Luckily, it happens to be the closest wine region to Paris, making it perfect for day trips or weekend getaways. It also happens to be my favorite wine region, so I try to visit whenever I'm nearby.

We spent weeks in Europe and saw the Eras Tour twice for about what we paid to see her in the US. AdvertisementThe world has never seen anything quite like Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. Since embarking on the high-grossing tour, Swift has showcased her talents and proved her performances can boost economies and change travel patterns. For example, we saw Swift in Warsaw, Poland, instead of the super-popular Paris or London. Seeing the Eras Tour in the US cost us thousands.

“I think it would be a big mistake to underestimate the president,” Scholz told PBS ahead of NATO’s 50th anniversary summit in Washington. Biden has instead opted for “minilateralism,” what foreign policy experts have come to term his strategy for dealing with smaller coalitions of like-minded nations. “Ironically, it is precisely Biden’s caution that has encouraged continued Russian, Chinese, North Korean, and Iranian misbehavior,” Kempe writes. According to Pew Research Center polling on views of Biden across 34 countries, 63% of German respondents expressed confidence in Biden. In Poland – another country where aides have considered having Biden visit to tout Ukraine support – 70% of respondents express confidence in Biden.

In the end, on Wednesday, both Harris and Fox News probably got what they wanted. But before the interview, Harris spokesman Ian Sams explained her thinking. If only a few thousand Fox viewers or traditional conservatives swapped sides, it could push some swing states in the vice president’s direction. Still, the risk for Harris is that her display in her first formal Fox interview could alienate some of those voters. It’s taken her several months to arrive at the assurance that she’d strike a strong contrast with Biden’s administration, which she unveiled in the Fox interview.

SYDNEY, Australia — King Charles, the only British monarch who has spent time living in Australia, arrives on Friday for his inaugural visit to an overseas realm as sovereign, his first major foreign trip since being diagnosed with cancer. It is embarrassing that Australians are subjects of the king, Keneally said in an interview, adding that this was no fault of King Charles, who has said a republic is a matter for Australians to decide. “I hope he is OK on this tour because he has that cancer,” Keneally said. Jan Hugo shows off her collection of memorabilia of the British royal family, near the town of Cessnock, Australia, on Tuesday. “When we drank to Australia, we drank to the Queen of Australia, and I felt that didn’t represent who we were,” he said.

Their task is to “strengthen and develop” their strategic partnership, the Russian defense chief added. Russia and China have been bolstering their security coordination in the face of shared frictions with the West. Belousov also held talks a day earlier with Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun, who ranks below Zhang in China’s military hierarchy. Belousov’s arrival in Beijing Monday coincided with China’s military flying a record number of fighter jets and other warplanes around Taiwan during large-scale military drills. China said the drills were intended as a “stern warning” to what it described as pro-independence forces in Taiwan.
