The Boss spoke about how his perspective on life has evolved in recent years following Scialfa’s cancer diagnosis while appearing at a panel for his documentary “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band” in Los Angeles on Monday, according to People. In the film, Scialfa identified her cancer as multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer that doesn’t always require immediate treatment, according to the Mayo Clinic. “If the multiple myeloma is slow growing and isn’t causing symptoms, close watching might be the first step. Multiple myeloma affects plasma cells, a type of white blood cell produced in the bone marrow. “Myeloma treatment is a marathon,” said Dr. Manni Mohyuddin, a multiple myeloma specialist at the University of Utah’s Huntsman Cancer Institute. Multiple myeloma is twice as common among Black people than white people in the U.S., and mortality rates among Black Americans are twice as high. Studio Ghibli executive Junichi Nishioka said it was an honour for "The Boy and the Heron" to have been chosen as the opener for the festival. The film, a semi-autobiographical story of a young boy struggling with the death of his mother, is expected to Miyazaki's swan song. "Gonzo Girl" stars Arquette, Camila Morrone and William Dafoe were among the few actors gaining union approval to promote their films.

Major European broadcasters have blocked Zelenskyy from speaking at Eurovision this weekend. A spokesperson for Zelenskyy denied that he had asked to speak at the event, AP reported. "The Eurovision Song Contest is an international entertainment show and governed by strict rules and principles which have been established since its creation. "We believe that this is the best way to reflect and celebrate Ukraine's Eurovision Song Contest win and show we are united by music during these hard times," the broadcasting union said, according to AP. Both the Oscars in March and the Toronto Film Festival in September denied Zelenskyy's requests to speak.
