REUTERS/Benoit Tessier/file photo Acquire Licensing RightsWASHINGTON, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Spirit AeroSystems (SPR.N), a major supplier of parts for jetliners, has asked Boeing (BA.N) and Airbus (AIR.PA) to absorb more of the financial pain caused by inflation that makes its contracts "not sustainable," Spirit CEO Tom Gentile said on Thursday.
"And it really is not sustainable for Spirit.
So we are having discussions with our customers, with Boeing and Airbus, about these pressures that we're facing and how we address them."
Spirit executives first alluded to the need to reopen contract negotiations with Boeing and Airbus in August.
