Now, Sacks is considered a member of the elite "PayPal Mafia," along with Thiel, Elon Musk, and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman. After leaving PayPal, Sacks pursued a brief stint in Hollywood and produced Thank You for Smoking, a 2005 satirical film that was nominated for a Golden Globe. On December 5, Trump announced that Sacks will serve as his AI and crypto czar, to the delight of some Silicon Valley execs.

Palantir shares continued their torrid run on Friday, soaring 11% to a record, after the developer of software for the military announced plans to transfer its listing to the Nasdaq from the New York Stock Exchange. The shares are now up more than 45% since Palantir's better-than-expected earnings report last week and have almost quadrupled in value this year. Palantir said late Thursday that it expects to begin trading on the Nasdaq on Nov. 26, under its existing ticker symbol "PLTR." Thiel's Palantir holdings have increased in value by about $3 billion since the earnings report and $2 billion since the election.

Bridgit Mendler's path from Disney Channel star to space startup CEO started with — quite literally — an accident. The 31-year-old is the CEO and co-founder of Northwood Space, a company based in El Segundo, California that aims to mass-produce ground stations — otherwise known as the antennae that communicate with space satellites. "While everybody else was making their sourdough starters [during the Covid-19 pandemic], we were building antennas out of random crap we could find at Home Depot ... and receiving data from [National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration] satellites," Mendler told CNBC on Monday while announcing her startup. "I'm studying anthropology," Mendler told ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in 2015. While at Harvard, she served as co-president of the Harvard Space Law Society, according to her LinkedIn profile.
