The singer will perform during the halftime show of the Houston Texans-Baltimore Ravens NFL game on Christmas Day in her hometown of Houston, Netflix announced on Sunday. “Your early Christmas wish has been granted as Beyoncé will perform during Netflix’s first-ever NFL Christmas Gameday,” the streaming giant said in a press release. This will be the third NFL halftime show for Beyoncé, who previously performed at Super Bowls in 2013 and 2016. Netflix is streaming both of the NFL’s Christmas Day games this year as part of a wider three-year deal with the league. However, viewers on social media reported that they were having trouble watching the event on the streaming platform.

The NFL and Netflix delivered a gift to fans by tabbing Beyoncé to perform the halftime show for the Christmas Day game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans. Netflix will stream Ravens-Texans and a game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas. Beyoncé will sing songs from her “Cowboy Carter” album during the halftime show, according to a Texans release, marking the first time she’ll perform any songs from the album for a live audience. There’s an argument to be made that Thursday’s game between the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles is the most important Commanders regular season game in nearly 20 years. Since 2000, the Eagles have seven NFC championship game appearances, as well as three Super Bowl appearances. In fact, of the Commanders’ seven victories, only one has come against a team that’s currently over .500. Three of their wins have come against the Giants and the Carolina Panthers, who have seven wins combined. But beating the Eagles — on the road and in a short week — would certify Washington in a way the previous 10 weeks haven’t.

Yet this season he is on pace to produce marks in passer rating, air yards per attempt, yards per passing attempt, quarterback rating, passing yards and interceptions that are better than in either of his previous MVP campaigns, in 2019 and 2023. Goff has been a model of efficiency, completing 74.1% of his passes while posting career bests in yards per attempt and passer rating. While other NFC contenders have struggled, Detroit looks arguably better than a season ago. By rushing for a league-leading 946 yards on 6.5 yards per carry — an incredible 1.1 yards more per rush than he averaged in that historic 2020 season — he’s taken pressure off of Jackson. That not only explains the play, but what Daniels has brought to a Commanders team that won’t go away.

The Cleveland Browns pulled off a massive upset Sunday, defeating the Baltimore Ravens 29-24 behind a stellar performance from quarterback Jameis Winston. The Browns entered Week 8 with a 1-6 record, with quarterback Deshaun Watson last in the league in quarterback rating. And he responded by outdueling Ravens quarterback and MVP candidate Lamar Jackson, who had led his team to five straight wins before Sunday. Since he joined Cleveland in 2022, Watson has never thrown for over 300 yards and three touchdowns in the same game. They are the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL after overcoming their recent rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, on Sunday. The Baltimore Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for a man accused of assaulting two NFL fans after the Baltimore Ravens played the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Video of the assault went viral on social media following Sunday's game in Baltimore, in which the Ravens bested the Commanders 30-23. The video, verified by NBC News, shows a man in a Ravens jersey, allegedly Callis, approaching two men in Commanders jerseys on the streets of Baltimore. The viral clip shows the man wearing the Ravens jersey kicks one of the men wearing a Commanders jersey in his side before punching him in the face. The end of the video shows the front of the man in the Ravens jersey, who raises his arm and high fives someone off camera while shouting "I don't lose!"

Daniels, the Commanders’ rookie sensation, threw for 269 yards with two touchdowns and no turnovers Sunday, continuing one of the most prolific starts to a career by a rookie quarterback in history.
