Osceola County deputy David Crawford was one of several law enforcement officers attempting to arrest Jean Barreto on February 27, 2022. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment regarding claims that deputies were searching for the wrong suspect. However, the sheriff’s office provided a statement to CNN on Saturday regarding Crawford’s acquittal, saying it respects the jury’s decision. About 167,000 pounds of both fresh and frozen ground beef products have been recalled over possible E. coli contamination, according to the the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). Fifteen people were reported sick as of Nov. 20, with symptoms beginning between Nov. 2 and Nov. 10. That same day, the FSIS said in a press release, the Minnesota Department tested a ground beef sample from Wolverine Packing Co. and found that it contained a strain of harmful bacteria called E. coli O157:H7. The FSIS provided a list of all affected products and images of every product label that is part of the recall. E. coli O157:H7 is the same strain of bacteria linked to onions in some McDonald’s Quarter Pounders in October.

Inflation in the 20-nation euro zone rose to 2% in October, preliminary figures released by statistics agency Eurostat showed Thursday. The fresh Thursday inflation print is seen as crucial in judging whether the European Central Bank could consider implementing a jumbo half-percentage-point cut in interest rates at its next meeting in December. The central bank has so far trimmed rates three times this year, making quarter-point increments that altogether took the central bank's key rate from 4% to 3.25%. Traders are also considering the latest growth figures for the euro area, which showed better-than-expected 0.4% expansion in the third quarter, even as analysts predicted further weakness ahead. The ECB said during its October meeting that sluggishness in the euro zone's economic activity had added to its confidence that inflation will not resurge dramatically.

Special-purpose bonds are a tool for off-budget debt financing used by Chinese local governments, with the proceeds raised typically earmarked for specific policy objectives, such as infrastructure expenditures.
