One person was detained Sunday after three people died in a house fire in Temple City. Firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were sent to the home in the 6000 block of Sultana Avenue at around 4:50 p.m. and were able to knock down the fire in 30 minutes. But due to a “heavy heat” from the flames, three people died, the department said. “Unfortunately they arrived to heavy smoke and fire showing from the front of the building,” Fred Fielding with the LA County Fire Department said. “I saw the whole house inside was full on fire -- fire coming out of the windows,” said Jane Guzman De Leon, who called 911.

Larock's experience comes at a time when, at least on the surface, the jobs market has continued to glide along. But worries are growing that the labor market is beginning to show cracks. Welcome to the good news-bad news labor market, where the collective experience is positive but not as much for individuals in particular groups. "But the bad news is that new entrants to the labor market are faring less well," Peng added. While Peng characterized the jobs market as "strong overall," she said there are "soft soft spots" that are particularly hitting "new entrants to the workforce."

Three former students have filed suit, saying a SoCal school district failed to protect them from "rampant" sexual abuse. AdvertisementA group of sexual abuse survivors have filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court, saying their high school district failed to protect them from predatory teachers for years. Administrators failed to properly supervise employees, the lawsuit claims, and repeatedly "ignored and concealed the sexual abuse of minor students." "It's about protecting the interests of the school district over protecting children." After leaving a job as PE teacher in the Lake Washington School District outside of Seattle, Scott Nelson was coaching basketball in the Issaquah school district.

CNN —A member of the crew working on the upcoming Marvel series “Wonder Man” died Tuesday following an accident on set, according to a statement from Marvel Studios. “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and friends, and our support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this accident,” the studio said in a statement to CNN. The crew member, identified by the LA County Medical Examiner’s office as 41-year-old Juan Carlos Osorio of Temple City, California, was reportedly a rigger who fell from rafters. No foul play is suspected and the death investigation is ongoing, Miller said. “Wonder Man” was set to star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, an actor who had appeared in “Aquaman” and HBO’s “Watchmen.” Wonder Man is a lesser-known Marvel character first introduced in the ’60s.

Students were regularly subjected to sexual harassment by Hall, two former students told me. “I feel like so many of us were victims to the culture,” one former Rosemead student told Insider. Manipulation by a trusted adult has been passed like a virus to generations of Rosemead students. AdvertisementThe Shops at Santa Anita in Arcadia have long been a local haunt for Rosemead High students. We wondered aloud whether Masiello had harassed our mother the same way he'd done to generations of Rosemead students.
