Companies are cracking down on job applicants trying to use AI to boost their prospects. AI was supposed to make the job hunt easier, but job seekers should expect landing a new gig harder in the coming years, thanks to companies growing increasingly suspicious of candidates using bots to get their foot in the door. AdvertisementWorkday found that job applications grew at four times the pace of job openings in the first half of this year, with recruiters processing 173 million applications, while there were just 19 million job requisitions. CNN —Australian police said Wednesday they have infiltrated Ghost, an encrypted global communications app developed for criminals, leading to dozens of arrests. In an undated photo provided by the Australian Federal Police, illicit drugs are found in a concealed compartment in a vehicle. Australian Federal Police/APPolice allege that Jung developed the app specifically for criminal use in 2017. Australian police technicians were able to modify software updates regularly pushed out by the administrator, McCartney said. The modified smartphones sold for 2,350 Australian dollars ($1,590) which included a six-month subscription to Ghost and tech support.

LONDON, March 10 (Reuters) - Technology giant Apple (AAPL.O) on Friday told a London tribunal that Britain's competition watchdog had "no power" to launch a probe into its mobile browsers because it did so too late. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) opened a full investigation in November into cloud gaming and mobile browsers over concerns about restrictions by iPhone-maker Apple, as well as by Google (GOOGL.O). Apple filed an appeal in January at the Competition Appeal Tribunal in London and argues the investigation is "invalid". However, the CMA's lawyer James Eadie said the watchdog had complied with the legal time limits, because it initially decided not to open an investigation in December 2021. "A finding of invalidity would terminate the market investigation and leave unaddressed the CMA's concerns about the lack of competition for mobile browsers and cloud gaming," Eadie added.

It said on Tuesday the latest deal would deepen Lordstown's ties with Foxconn's EV development platform MIH, or Mobility in Harmony. Lordstown Chief Executive Officer Edward Hightower, speaking via video at an MIH event in Taipei, said the truck maker and Foxconn were eyeing production for other original equipment manufacturers, or OEMs, as well. Foxconn shares traded up 0.5% on Tuesday. Lordstown CEO Hightower said the vehicle maker aims to deliver the first Endurance trucks to customers in the current quarter.
