A prominent digital rights activist, who is transgender, confronted Rep. Nancy Mace at a public event Thursday, days after the congresswoman from South Carolina introduced a resolution to ban transgender women from using women’s bathrooms in the U.S. Capitol. A representative for Mace and Project Liberty, the organization that hosted the summit and invited Greer, didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Greer’s organization is known for its viral protest efforts against internet censorship and surveillance and in support of net neutrality. McBride, whom Mace has repeatedly misgendered, said in a statement that she would follow the new bathroom rules as outlined by Johnson, even if she disagrees with them. In her congressional office, McBride will have a private bathroom, while all other public bathrooms in the Capitol will be banned for transgender people.

Nature-based carbon removal does have advantages. The rise of negative emissionsOther climate experts view the criticisms of nature-based carbon removal as missing the central point. "As an emitter, every company should focus on reducing their emissions, but as a purchaser looking to offset residual emissions, they should prioritize purchases of robust negative emissions," he stated. He said that Ukraine must place its military on a new footing if it is to defeat Russia. Publicly listed data company LiveRamp's $200 million acquisition of data clean room provider Habu looks set to fire the starting pistol for a more buoyant year of adtech and martech M&A, experts have predicted. He noted that while ad teams aren't using these clean rooms en masse, many have activated them, which bodes well for the Habu acquisition. ID5's technology is deployed by the most online publishers of any identity service, according to Sincera , which measures which adtech companies are used across the industry. LiveRamp, also, could be an acquisition target, Salmon noted, as it builds out new data offerings like the clean rooms it will inherit from Habu. But not everyone is predicting the Habu acquisition will necessarily lead to an influx of M&A around cookieless adtech.

There is also some concern about job losses and loss of market access by smaller banks. Changing an organization's behavior is difficult and takes sustained effort, said DirectBooks CEO Rich Kerschner. Interest in automation grew as desks struggled with corporate bond volumes that touched a record $1.78 trillion in 2020. Three years into it, only a small proportion of orders and allocation messages for a new bond were going through DirectBooks. Once in place, hundreds of investors using OMS platforms could send their order messages and receive allocation messages through DirectBooks, said Kerschner.
