Yale University is getting in formation with a new course dedicated to studying Beyoncé. Following Beyoncé’s innovations and influence from her self-titled 2013 album to her latest, “Cowboy Carter,” students will analyze her albums, performance politics and concert films. Courses on the star’s political and cultural influence have popped up since the early 2010s, with Rutgers University’s “Politicizing Beyoncé” class and a “Beyonce: Critical Feminist Perspectives and U.S. Black Womanhood” course at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Cornell University has also offered versions of its “Beyoncé Nation” course, which studies her career trajectory as well as her impact on political activism and feminism. Other universities that have offered similar Beyoncé-themed courses include the University of Texas at San Antonio, California Polytechnic State University and Arizona State University.

The bank said Oasis fans made up around 70% of all reported ticket fraud between August 27 and September 25. Fans scrambling for tickets have fumed about eye-watering prices and long waits online. Lloyds said its customers buying Oasis tickets on a major UK ticket selling site splashed out more compared with any other music concert over the past three years, parting with an average of £563 ($731) per debit card transaction during the first day of ticket sales in August. The Democratic National Committee is using the last stretch of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour to urge young people to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris. Authorities in India have summoned executives of a ticketing platform after furious Coldplay fans failed to secure tickets for the British rock band’s upcoming concerts in Mumbai and complained of unchecked scalping. Many of them are directing their anger at the platforms selling tickets — and calling on officials to take action.
