The Chiefs fell to the Buffalo Bills, 30-21, as Josh Allen got the best of Patrick Mahomes in Buffalo on Sunday. The quarterback totaled over 300 yards in the game, including a team-high 55 rushing yards and a passing touchdown. Steve Spagnuolo’s Chiefs defense entered Week 11 ranked fourth in DVOA, a gargantuan factor in Kansas City being so lucky to remain undefeated until Sunday. It took a heroic effort for Allen to snap the 30-game streak for the Chiefs’ defense, which has been the better unit on the roster in the past two seasons. AdvertisementFor the Chiefs’ defense, the biggest takeaway here is that the secondary looks to be shaky in certain spots against quality competition.

This week, the numbers are screaming to go with Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, one of eight quarterbacks averaging more than 300 passing yards a game. This week, I’m riding with Sampson to lead all rushers in yards because he’s facing a Mississippi State defense that’s ranked 124th against the run. Dart’s 515 passing yards and six TDs last week against Arkansas, with a breakout performance from Jordan Watkins, provide more reason for me to stick with my midseason prediction. AdvertisementWeek 10 report cardAs mentioned before, my big victory last week was predicting Dart would lead all QBs in passing yards. I had Clemson covering a 10.5-point spread against Louisville with Cade Klubnik (250-plus passing yards, two TDs) and Phil Mafah (100-plus rushing yards, two TDs) doing work.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — San Francisco 49ers rookie receiver Ricky Pearsall returned to the field for practice on Monday for the first time since he was shot in the chest during an attempted robbery nine days before the season opener. The 49ers opened a window for Pearsall to begin practicing with the team while he remains on the non-football injury list. “I saw him warming up and I started smiling because I know how big of a factor he can be for the team,” rookie guard Dominick Puni said. Pearsall was shot in the chest during a robbery attempt in San Francisco’s Union Square area and was hospitalized overnight. Are we living through another Lamar Jackson MVP season? The Bears defense has also been phenomenal and will keep them in games even when Williams will inevitably struggle, as all rookies do. Full disclosure: One of my bold predictions entering the season was that Rattler would wind up taking Derek Carr’s job this season. The bigger concern is the Saints’ defense, which surrendered 600 yards and 50 points and allowed the Bucs to convert 6 of 10 third downs. It doesn’t matter who plays quarterback — the Saints defense has to put up some resistance.

None of the top five fantasy players coming into the season based on average draft position is in the top 48 in fantasy scoring. (The fantasy scoring numbers here are provided by TruMedia, and the average draft position statistics were compiled by Fantasy Pros.) Aaron Jones (15.7 fantasy ppg) has been a good pick but left early Sunday with a hip injury. The only bright spot for Las Vegas is rookie tight end Brock Bowers, who is 76th in fantasy scoring (13.3). CNN —The South Alabama Jaguars racked up the most points scored by an FBS team in over 33 years on Thursday, as they thrashed the Northwestern State Demons 87-10. Remarkably, the Jaguars did so in just 51 minutes, as both head coaches agreed to shorten the fourth quarter to a six-minute running clock. South Alabama’s point total is the highest by an FBS team in a single game since Fresno State beat New Mexico 94-17 in October 1991. South Alabama dominated the running game with 363 yards on the ground to go with six touchdowns from four different players. Four touchdowns from South Alabama stretched the lead to an impressive 52-10 at halftime, but still the Jaguars did not let up.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to contracts with former New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley and former New York Jets defensive end Bryce Huff, two people familiar with the deals told The Associated Press on Monday. The Giants used the tag last season and eventually worked out a one-year, $10.1 million contract before the start of training camp. A franchise tag this year would have cost the team $12.2 million if Barkley accepted the offer. The 25-year old Huff spent the last four seasons with the New York Jets. The Browns still have a shot to get more value out of their trade that sent three first-round picks and three lower picks to Houston for Deshaun Watson. Here's a look at some of the worst trades in the NFL over the years:HERSCHEL WALKER TO MINNESOTAPhotos You Should See View All 60 ImagesThe Cowboys launched their dynasty in the 1990s when Jimmy Johnson realized the high value of draft picks and turned Herschel Walker into a huge haul of them. The trades helped Dallas acquire draft picks that led to Emmitt Smith, Darren Woodson, Russell Maryland and Kevin Smith, who contributed to three Super Bowl titles. That led the Falcons to cut ties quickly, trading him after the season to Green Bay for a first-round pick. So, he’s definitely a valued player and I think the most valued player.”There are few backs as versatile as McCaffrey. He excels at picking up blitzes as well as running pass patterns out of the backfield. Or he can line up in the slot or out wide and run pass patterns as well as many receivers. That versatility can sometimes be a curse with some coaches viewing him more as a scat back than a traditional three-down back who can pound it between the tackles for positive yards play after play such as the old-school backs from the 1970s and ’80s. I had coaches in the NFL who didn’t think I could run in between the tackles.
