Yale University is getting in formation with a new course dedicated to studying Beyoncé. Following Beyoncé’s innovations and influence from her self-titled 2013 album to her latest, “Cowboy Carter,” students will analyze her albums, performance politics and concert films. Courses on the star’s political and cultural influence have popped up since the early 2010s, with Rutgers University’s “Politicizing Beyoncé” class and a “Beyonce: Critical Feminist Perspectives and U.S. Black Womanhood” course at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Cornell University has also offered versions of its “Beyoncé Nation” course, which studies her career trajectory as well as her impact on political activism and feminism. London CNN —Hundreds of Oasis fans are looking back in anger after falling victim to a “landslide” of ticket selling scams. The bank said Oasis fans made up around 70% of all reported ticket fraud between August 27 and September 25. Fans scrambling for tickets have fumed about eye-watering prices and long waits online. Lloyds said its customers buying Oasis tickets on a major UK ticket selling site splashed out more compared with any other music concert over the past three years, parting with an average of £563 ($731) per debit card transaction during the first day of ticket sales in August. That’s higher than the average £342 ($444) spent on tickets for Taylor Swift’s UK tour last year, it noted.

The Democratic National Committee is using the last stretch of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour to urge young people to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris. In conjunction with her shows, the DNC announced that it is launching a Taylor Swift-themed “I Will Vote” campaign across Florida and other battleground states. Ads for the “I Will Vote” campaign will begin appearing across Miami on billboards, including a mobile billboard on a boat near Hard Rock Stadium. Many of them are directing their anger at the platforms selling tickets — and calling on officials to take action. Just 12% of Republicans report positive attitudes toward the singer, down from 28% last year. Among Democrats, 58% view Swift in a positive light, a slight increase from 53% in 2023. About 26% of independents have a positive attitude toward Swift, a drop from 34% in 2023. The significant shift from Republican voters has pushed Swift’s overall favorability rating among registered voters lower than last year, decreasing from 40% in 2023 to 33% this year.
