A Boston man accused of punching and kicking a transgender woman during a violent attack on a train last month was charged with assault and other crimes, officials said. The unidentified victim, 41, told transit police that she was attacked on Halloween at the Maverick train station, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said in a news release. She reported being punched and kicked while the suspect, identified as Gregory Burnett, allegedly screamed derogatory terms at her such as "you’re not a woman, you’re a man," the DA said. She told transit police she believed she was attacked because of her gender identity. He was arrested on Nov. 12 and charged with assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and civil rights violation with injury.

Today, he is best associated with Tintagel Castle, where remains of a settlement dating back to the fifth century perch strikingly on an islet off the wild coast of Cornwall. Bettmann Archive/Getty ImagesFor Stoyle, it’s likely that the myth of Arthur has at least its roots in fact. This Arthur was played by Clive Owen in the 2004 film, “King Arthur,” alongside Keira Knightley as Guinevere. The sixth-century “Artognou stone," discovered in 1998, has linked Tintagel with King Arthur for some scholars, though others dismiss it. In a 2000 interview with CNN’s Larry King, Sante Kimes called their arrest a witch hunt, saying they were victims of mistaken identity. Kenneth Kimes Sr. pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, but Sante Kimes went to prison in 1985. Capri and Tapestry called off their merger on Thursday after the Federal Trade Commission successfully sued to block the megadeal. "With the termination of the merger agreement, we are now focusing on the future of Capri and our three iconic luxury houses," Capri CEO John Idol said in a statement. In April, the FTC sued to block the deal, saying the tie-up would disadvantage consumers and reduce benefits for the companies' employees. Tapestry plans to fund the stock repurchase through a combination of cash on hand and debt. Tapestry said it will reimburse Capri around $45 million.

Grocery chain Asda is calling workers back to the office three days a week from January. The British retailer says it will improve on-site catering and provide better bathrooms for staff. Asda chair Stuart Rose said remote work doesn't suit the fast pace of the consumer goods industry. In recent months, companies like Dell and Amazon have announced that staff must be back in the office five days a week. If RTO policies become too strict, top talent will simply leave to find a system that works for them, Ravin Jesuthasan, a respected future-of-work researcher, previously told Business Insider.

Lebaredian is vice president of omniverse and simulation technology at Nvidia, reporting directly to CEO Jensen Huang. "AI is essentially bridging this computing to physical world divide, and that essentially is robotics," Lebaredian told Business Insider. The Nvidia veteran is building a virtual world faithful to the real world so that robots can use it to practice tasks and learn. "The key here is that the simulation that we use has to match the real world as closely as possible so that what it learns inside that virtual world is transferable to the real world. If it learns inside a cartoon world with cartoon physics, it's not going to behave properly when it gets into the real world," he said.

Bomb threats roiled polling places in swing states, including Georgia, Arizona and Michigan. LONDON British telecom firms Vodafone and Three's multibillion-pound merger could go ahead if the companies adopt a series of proposed remedies to clear competition concerns, regulators said Tuesday. Vodafone has previously said that the combined entity, once merged, would invest £11 billion ($14.46 billion) into U.K. telecommunications infrastructure. Vodafone has also said it disagrees with earlier findings from the CMA that the merger would lead to price increases for consumers. It says the merger wouldn't pricing strategy and would enhance competition between mobile virtual network operators, or MVNOs. "Approval would mark one of the most significant developments in the history of UK mobile, heralding the arrival of a new market leader with over 29 million customers," Manning said in emailed comments.

But nearly 16 years after Lambert’s murder, the case remains unfinished. (Niroula was fatally assaulted in jail while awaiting a new trial; two defendants previously pleaded guilty, and their convictions weren’t overturned.) Then, he and Niroula began developing a plot to defraud and murder Lambert, the prosecutor said. Four of them, including Niroula and Garcia, were charged with murder, conspiracy, grand theft and other crimes, court records show. Less than a month later, a judge overturned the four murder convictions and set the cases for retrial.

A US judge blocked the pending $8.5 billion merger of US handbag and accessories maker Tapestry and Capri on Thursday, a victory for the US Federal Trade Commission in an industry where merger challenges are rare. Tapestry fought those claims, saying the deal was spurred by an intensely competitive US handbag industry and was needed to fight back against European players like Gucci, which are increasingly grabbing market share. The ruling in effect permanently blocks the proposed deal, Tapestry’s lawyers said in court documents. Those brands are: Tapestry’s Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman; and Capri’s Versace, Jimmy Choo and Michael Kors. The ruling follows approval of the merger by regulators in Japan and the European Union earlier this year.

A federal judge blocked Tapestry's acquisition of Capri on Thursday following a brief trial last month in New York. Representatives for Tapestry and Capri didn't immediately return requests for comment. The decision will ensure that Tapestry and Capri continue to engage in head-to-head competition to the benefit of the American public." The decision comes as consumers balk at high prices for food, apparel and other goods after years of elevated inflation. Lawyers for Tapestry and Capri argued the companies are not each other's main competitors.

CNN —Six people have been arrested as part of an investigation into a wine fraud ring that allegedly sold fake French wine for up to €15,000 ($16,300) per bottle. Police in Italy searched 14 properties and seized large amounts of wine, wine bottles, counterfeit stickers from top French vineyards and machines used to recap bottles, according to a statement from European law enforcement agency Europol, published Tuesday. “The surge in demand for fine wine in the 21st century… has motivated fraudsters,” George told CNN. “Better training and better knowledge of what bottles of fine wine – and especially old bottles of fine wine – really look like would be useful,” said George.
