Gina Strum, the former Avenue Capital employee accused of blackmailing her boss, countersued. AdvertisementIn response to Avenue Capital's lawsuit against her, former fundraiser Gina Strum has countersued, accusing her former bosses, including billionaire Marc Lasry, of sexual harassment and gender discrimination. A spokesperson for Avenue said: "Ms. Strum's allegations are completely false and represent her further attempt to malign the reputations of Mr. Lasry, Ms. Gardner, and Avenue for financial gain." Related storiesUnlike Lasry's suit, which accused Strum of "blackmailing" him, Strum's lawsuit does not include extensive written evidence, such as texts or emails of the harassment. The lawsuit alleges that Strum was demanding $50 million from Lasry or she threatened to make things "really, really, ugly." In the suit, Lasry, the former owner of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks and a longtime Democratic megadonor, alleges that his former employee, Gina Strum, was trying to extort him for $50 million. The suit states that Lasry rebuffed Strum's advances, but that did not stop the flow of texts. "Ms. Strum wrongly asserted that Ms. Gardner's 2022 surgery should have been disclosed to Avenue's investors, because according to Ms. Strum, Ms. Gardner was in poor health and had not been working for the last two years," the suit reads. "When Ms. Strum received the attention and the money she sought, she routinely complimented Plaintiffs," the suit states.

But for few has its pursuit been more complicated than for the elite career women Byars strives to help. AdvertisementWhen she finally felt ready to go back to corporate life, she looked for a more sustainable way to pursue professional success. The issue with high-achieving women, Byars says, is they focus on meeting only two of those needs — security (money) and esteem — while neglecting the rest. When the clients cry, it's mostly related to the need Byars says is the trickiest to meet: esteem. But if you're a woman with four kids and a senior-level corporate job, is there really any amount of mindset shifting you can do to avoid burnout?

Even though my name caused some issues while growing up, I'm glad it's completely different from my sister's. Our parents couldn't agree on namesPart of the reason my sister and I have such different names is that our parents had different opinions on popular names versus unique names. I'm glad I was given a completely different name from my twinOver the years, some people have asked why our parents gave us such different names. For example, in Good To Know's round-up of the 500 best twin baby names in 2023, names like "Aida and Ava" and "Gabriella and Isabella" topped the list. SJ Strum, a baby-name expert based in the UK, told me she's noticed that rhyming twin names have decreased in recent years.

Why Beyoncé’s foray into country makes total sense
  + stars: | 2024-02-14 | by ( Rashad Walker | ) edition.cnn.com   time to read: +2 min
CNN —In true showstopping fashion, Beyoncé announced the release of new music last weekend at the Super Bowl, and proceeded to drop two buzzy country songs that hint at the vibe of her next album. The songs, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “Sixteen Carriages,” were released by the singer shortly after the Super Bowl Halftime show on Sunday, and were accompanied with eye-popping visualizer videos on YouTube. Beyoncé followed that with the announcement of her eighth solo studio album, “Renaissance Act II,” and to no one’s surprise, the new project caused an incredible response across social media and beyond. They also know that this isn’t the first time Beyoncé has infused a country sound in her songs. Beyoncé’s album “Renaissance Act II” is set for release on March 29.

Tim McGraw — his name also the title of one of Swift's early breakout hits — delivered the game ball. Swift joined other Philly luminaries Patti LaBelle and John Oates as 2008 World Series anthem singers. Hackash said the team mostly worked through Swift’s family, including her parents Scott and Andrea, to snag an appearance. Her first Reading game was kind of a stepping stone to get something on tape to send to the Sixers. Former Sixers manager of game operations Kathy Drysdale said in 2002 that Swift’s voice caught her attention immediately on a tape submitted by Scott Swift.

The ghosts of “takemehome” are embodied by his dancers, dressed in streetwear separates, as they dip in and out of manic states, sometimes clawing at the air as their audible breath echoes across the gloomy stage. When the dancers in “takemehome” do get going, their energetic shifts lead to quick sprints, rapid fire jumps, far-flung limbs, but there is also much slow motion, in which bodies lean back and drag forward as if suspended by strings. Lately it seems that European contemporary dance, at least from France, has a thing for slow motion. Sometimes I wonder if it’s a subconscious way of willing those in the world to take a much-needed pause. When five of the performers, some standing on the amps, pick up guitars and start to strum — they do so vigorously, their arms moving up and down to create a sheet of sound — the zeppelin turns an angry red.
