CNBC's Jim Cramer on Tuesday suggested that the market is being brought down by some companies with business in China. "If you own stock in a company that expanded heavily into China, it's being killed right now," he said. But he said companies that rely on China for growth are having a particularly tough time on the market. He listed several companies whose business in China is lagging, including Procter & Gamble , Estee Lauder , Nike and Starbucks . According to Cramer, a reason smaller cap stocks are doing well is because, for the most part, they don't do a lot of business with China.

In the meantime, we received some terrific feedback from members after revealing in late May five stocks we would buy right here, right now. So which stocks would I buy right now? And while we expect Monday may not be a good day for tech stocks — remember it is only day three of the rotation — you have to buy AMD before the tide turns back to tech. I said that Best Buy was much more than just a brick-and-mortar company and that its integrity was high. More importantly, like AMD, Best Buy is where people will try out a new AI PC.

In the wake of a contentious debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump on Thursday night, CNBC's Jim Cramer described how the vibe of the market could change if Trump returned to the White House. Cramer noted that Trump is broadly amiable to gas and oil, pointing to companies like New Fortress Energy and Cheniere . Cramer said as long as he's known Trump, the GOP candidate has had a keen interest in the market. "He loved bantering about the stock market, appeared on this show many times, because even though he was in real estate, he enjoyed stocks," Cramer said. When a company performs well and I interview its CEO on CNBC, I consider the stock's performance before fashioning my questions. Maybe the company had been poorly run and the guest is a new CEO who is turning it around. Once Wood picks a stock, that company can do no wrong, which is code for she can do no wrong. And take it from me, an old Mexican restaurant veteran, it travels better than any other restaurant chain. We should have just bought Dutch Bros. Three times a day we would gather "off the desk," and I would have to defend every stock we owned. First, there's the obvious mistakes that we have made: Bausch Health and Foot Locker . To signify the changes, he renamed it Bausch Health in 2018, after the eye-care company Valeant bought for $8.7 billion five years earlier. We thought the IPO market would come back, and Bausch Health would win the lawsuit and all would be back on track. Here's why: The conversion from three or four cuts to two to one to no cuts won't happen overnight. It won't be a headlong rush out of the stock market. Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol told CNBC's Jim Cramer that the company plans to double its current number of locations. "We really do believe we can double the restaurant count to 7,000," Niccol said. "We view it as a conservative number, and we view it as something that's very feasible in the long term." Niccol attributed the successful quarter to the company's ability to produce quality food while keeping lines in the restaurants moving quickly. "So, we keep a really close eye on that, and I think you're seeing that in our transactions as a result of it."

"A rise in 10-year rates, has historically been devastating for consumer and consumer discretionary stocks," he said. "With the 10-year breaking above 4.25%, we are seeing all those consumer discretionary stocks that have had big years pull back sharply." For Stutland, that consumer strength is keeping him bullish on the stock market and U.S. economy in general — but not consumer discretionary stocks. "I'm staying away from the lower market cap weighted stocks and consumer discretionary from those apparel type brands," he said. "As a whole, consumer discretionary stocks to invest in are narrowing.

LONDON, March 1 (Reuters) - Reckitt Benckiser (RKT.L), maker of Dettol and Lysol cleaning products, on Wednesday marginally beat full-year like-for-like net revenue expectations, helped by higher prices and its nutrition and health businesses. The company said it would target like-for-like net revenue growth of mid-single digits for 2023, excluding the substantial boost its 2022 sales received from the recall of a rival's infant formula. Abbott Laboratories (ABT.N) early last year recalled dozens of infant nutrition products in the United States after customers complained of infants contracting bacterial infections. Reckitt, its biggest rival at the time, ramped up production to fill the supply gap left by Abbott, helping to drive full-year like-for-like net sales growth of about 23% in its nutrition business. The company said full-year like-for-like net revenue increased by 7.6%, edging ahead of analysts' expectations of a 7.5% rise, according to a company-provided consensus.
Stock markets seem to be slowing after a strong start to the year. But though bearish sentiment has seeped into the market, fund manager Barbara Doran is taking a contrarian view. Part of that was just bear market positioning but with the breadth that we saw in January, this is feeling like the start of, dare I say, a bull market," Doran told CNBC's " Street Signs Asia " last week. Stock picks One of Doran's top stock picks is Uber — and she's given the stock upside of between 25% and 50%. And the stock is in the camp where there is no [price-to-earnings] because there's no earnings, but I think there's substantial upside here," she said.
The Italian espresso culture inspired Howard Schultz 40 years ago as he built the Starbucks empire. In his final earnings call, Schultz hinted at a game-changing new "platform" coming to Starbucks later this month. Schultz said will travel to Milan later this month "to introduce something much bigger than any new promotion or beverage." "Eight of the ten highest sales days in our history [were] recorded in the quarter," Schultz said. On February 13, Starbucks plans to change its Starbucks Rewards program.
